I’m a beginner to intermediate at weightlifting, been doing StrongLifts 5x5 on and off for a year. Driving to and from the gym has been taking too much time, so I wanted a full home replacement. I’m happy to say that this has surpassed all of my expectations. I’m easily able to continue my exact workout regimen: squats, deadlifts, military press, rows, bench. One thing to keep in mind is that these do not translate 1:1 with real weight, I can lift “heavier” with these bands but I certainly can’t max it out (400 lbs resistance) and it will depend on your height/band notch you use. I’m 5’ 7”, and I do find it better to stand/lay on a folded up exercise mat for bench, rows, and deadlift to “shorten” the bands further. One of my initial bands did snap on arrival at the end (so not really a snap, more like disconnected from the clip). So there do seem to be minor quality control issues occasionally, but they promptly sent me two replacements and I haven’t had a single issue since then using it 3-4 times a week for over a month. Customer service has been top notch for me. One room for improvement, when unfolded the two pieces leave a bit of room on the hatch so you get a “rocking the boat” kinda effect when you squat. It’s minor and has never interrupted my workout, just thought I’d mention it for future versions. All in all this does exactly what it purports, I haven’t encountered an exercise I can’t do on this. I recently moved to a part of the country that doesn’t really have good access to gyms (surprising I know!). The nearby gym doesn’t have plenty of weights (it doesn’t even have a barbell) and for someone who likes to do bench presses and deadlifts, this was really a disappointment. The school gym wasn’t that great either since they don’t allow people to do exercises that place weights on the floor – so no deadlifts at all. Because of this, I ended up looking for a relatively portable home gym (since I am a student who lives from one dorm to the next), and the EVO gym looked like a perfect candidate for me. The fact that I can now do all the exercises that I love in the comfort of my home was great! Furthermore, whenever I travel, I end up not going to the gym since it’s hard to find them overseas and so I often end up not working out for the time I’m away. It was hard for me to justify how expensive this product is compared to everything else out there but at the end of the day it's worth it. The aluminum hinge runs the entire bottom and is built extremely well. The bands have five adjustment points and multiple weight options making it system that you can grow with. If you plan on using resistance bands for more than a few months I would just get this product and skip over the other ones that are less expensive. ... show more

I’ve always taken good care of myself, eating well, working out, and an avid runner. In recent years I’ve experienced significant burn out and struggled to find the gym and working out appealing. What has kicked me back into gear is watching my parents struggle with their health as they age. I DO NOT want to go through what they are as I age. I need to stay healthy and strong so I can be there to help them. I ordered the EVO gym to see if it would be something to get me recharged. It has worked!     • Great product but its more geared for taller people

The product overall is good but there are a few things you should be aware if you're buying it. The most noticeable thing is if you are particularly short you may not be able to do some exercises effectively because there is too much slack between the shortest notch and the bar. For reference, I am about 5'3" and I was doing 40reps on 200lb of resistance on floor presses with the shortest length because the band just wasn't short enough to give me enough of a challenge (and I wasn't even close to failure). That being said you may just need to utilize the other accessories more rather than the board. Other issues are minor like the small carabiner clips are sometimes a hassle to detach and attach things to because the resistance band strap gets in the way a lot and there isn't a great way to accurately increase resistance gradually by really small increments. The product does its job though and it gives you the tools to adjust your workouts as it suits you so you can find work-arounds for any issues you may run into because of your height. Just know that if you are particularly short you will need to experiment a bit more than average to find what works for you. It's biggest benefit is its pretty compact and even fits in my tiny apartment. ... show more

Only started using it for a few hours. Great product, well built. It does feel a bit scary stretching these bands but I guess that goes for any resistance bands. My only con is that it's very heavy so if you're planning on putting this in your checked baggage, it'll take up about ~10 LB I believe just for the board. Then accessories take up extra space but are not as heavy. But to Evo gym's credit, I rather have a well built product that's heavy than a weak board that's light. Either way, I put it in my carry on luggage as it's unlikely to be weighed by the airlines. Fits comfortably in that suitcase. I'd probably invest in some safety goggles to ease the mind of bands snapping (which so far has not happened but eventually will). ... show more
