  • Informative fun book
This book was very informative, but also made learning fun for my son. Great for Homeschool or if a student needs extra help in History

  • Great book - buy this for your child - great for all middle school grades
Great book. Attractive enough to make you want to pick it up and read it. The graphics are colorful, the font is clear, and the highlights and titles are in bold print. Chapters are color coded. Check Your Knowledge questions and answer page included. Contents list all the units and it's coverage. What makes this book stand out from all the others is that it includes all the important information broken down in easy to understand text and simple to read maps. It's all you need to know and that's it. There are a total of 5 subjects in this series: they include Math, Science, English Language Arts, World History, American History in the series and we have all of them. This is definitely worth the investment. Parents will find this book and series simple to explain to your child and/or read with them. Nothing complicated. Buy this book and the others in the series. I highly recommend it. ... show more

  • Really good overview of Amercan History
Learned some new things that I did not learn in high school (50+ years ago). The book covers some interesting parts of American history and I like how the text elaborates on the significance of the events.

  • Quick peek at US History!
Saw this at a diner and glanced through it while waiting to eat. So far, seems to cover the salient points and I even learned a few things (confirmed by Google searches, of course, now that history includes “alternate facts.” Fun reading for adults who have forgotten half of what they have learned.

  • Great book - excellent study helper for students
I bought this because we homeschool and thought it might be a good supplemental book. Honestly, though, if they can remember all the stuff in this book, they will know more than the average high school student does about American History. Nicely written and illustrated - takes away the "boring" part of American History. ... show more

  • Accurate History
This book is a wonderful resource to use while homeschooling my middle schooler. The information it covers is laid out in an easy to understand manner and does not shy away from teaching American history accurately. It doesn't go into great depth, but still remains truthful rather than feeding into propaganda. It also includes practice questions, along with the answers, for each chapter. It is NOT a stand alone text book, but is certainly helpful. Whether a child is being homeschooled or is in public school and needs a little extra help, I highly recommend it. ... show more

  • Great for middle school students and teachers!
I teach 8th Grade Social Studies and this book has been immensely helpful in A) reminding me what I have forgotten over the years, B) how to break down some do the more complicated concepts, and C) how to possibly make history fun (shocking idea I know😁). Having this in my classroom library going forward will be a huge help for years to come. ... show more
