    • Impossible to use
It is impossible to get so much blood on on the big circles and you only get one shot to draw a vast amount of blood. Plus not to mention it really hurt. The needle is big, I was expecting it to feel like a glucose meter test. It was so much more painful my finger felt wounded for days, glad it didn't get infected. Then it wasn't worth the pain because I couldn't meet the impossible demands of filling each circle with a vast amount of blood that I could not squeeze out. I only got one and missed the mark on half another and tried to draw more blood by pricking my finger again but it didn't work. It was a nightmare ... show more

I read the reviews and was very scared for the lancet to be honest. I ended up not struggling at all somehow- the lancet didn’t hurt my finger, and I only needed one poke. I made sure to have great blood flow to the area beforehand and squeezed my fingertip as needed for more blood flow until I completed it. For the vitamin d test one has to provide enough blood to fill five spaces. I had to stick myself twice and it was a battle. The response was fast and the levels seemed where I thought they’d be. So if you’re not a root vegetable this is what you need.

I had to take the test twice for free due to not enough blood on the first one. I believe they should send out two blood test cards so we can have a back up. On the second test I created a practice test card, which I am glad I did, it takes the blood awhile to flow heavily. Also jab the the side of the finger firmly and wait for it to flow heavily before taking sample. Be sure to follow the instructions, such as warm water, exercise etc. there are also you tube videos. Good value at around 50.00, doctors charge up to 300.00 ... show more

    • Easy and convenient
I love using everlywell to check anything I need to, at home! Instead of getting a huge amount of blood drawn at the lab, all u need is a few drops of blood for this test. Whenever I'm trying to raise my vitamin d levels this really helps to know where I'm at! Just make sure to drink water to get your blood flowing and warm your hands in warm water for 30 seconds. You shouldn't have a problem with getting enough blood to fill the sample. Have been using these at home tests for about a year, and it's very convenient! ... show more

I got my test in the mail yesterday and was excited to complete it and find out my vitamin D levels from the comfort of my home. I just mailed it back today, so I will review further when I get my results, but I just had to review the sample process and my negative experience. The lancets were easy to use and didn’t really hurt when I first pricked my finger. However, my finger almost immediately swelled up and developed a dark bruise. I was only able to get two drops out of my finger, and 5 are required. So I reluctantly used the second lancet on the ring finger of my other hand. Now I have two very painful bruised fingers. The bleeding restarted several times and I dripped blood on my bathroom counter trying to get them rebandaged. I screamed in pain when my 14 month old grabbed my finger during a diaper change. I hope they heal up soon! I’m looking forward to seeing my results, but regardless of the rest of my experience I won’t be using this product again, or any other at-home blood drop tests.
