Description

The ruggedly built Cyclone 212 feels like a bigger welder than it really is thanks to the powerful, yet space-saving design that is provided by the modern digital IGBT inverter construction. As both a MIG welder and a Stick welder, the Cyclone 212 takes advantage of every inch of it's new space-saving design by providing up to 230A of MIG output while offering the capability to weld with either 8" (10-12 lb) or 4" (2 lb) spools of wire. Due to its new, space minded case dimensions and generously-sized carrying front/rear and middle choices for handles, the unit can be carried anywhere you need it. The 230A MIG and 160A Stick output combined with the dual 120/240V operating capability makes it a good candidate for being your go-to chore-hound for both jobs in the shop and on the job site. Even though the Cyclone 212 is putting the industry into a ''whirl wind" with power, size and performance its features don't stop there. The new digitally controlled display panel of the Cyclone 212 is intuitively designed with both polarity reminders and a new PowerSet Function making setup simpler than ever. Whenever you plug the unit in, it begins to analyze the input voltage and automatically set and adjust the machine's output capabilities, and displays a input voltage reminder to you should you forget what power level you are operating on. Additionally, when you select a function, the machine also gives you an animated depiction and reminder of which polarity you should be operating on. This is important when switching between welding operations such as MIG to Flux-Cored welding, or vice versa where polarity does change and are critical to the correct performance of the welder. The PowerSet function also allows the new and professional user to operate with authority, without having to look up or second guess setting choices. • Good For Hobby Use
Love it. If anything, it is almost too much welder for the money and a hobbyiest like me will never get to use the full range of functions available on this machine. I have owned it for over a year and used it for everything and anything I could find to weld. I welded things that needed welding and, well, I welded a lot of things that didn't need welding. It is so much fun, I find myself looking for excuses to make things I don't need, then cut them up and make more things I don't need. This is my second welder. My first was from a cheap discount tool place and it did its job but this baby is like switching from a paper airplane to an F18. Easy to set up. Easy to operate. Plenty of adjustment for welding everything from thin sheet metal to 3/8" steel. The MIG is flawless. Stick would be flawless if I could learn to control my movement a bit better. FIVE YEAR UPDATE. I have now owned this over five years and continue to use it occasionally for misc. hobby applications. I am NOT a welder and therefore avoid welding anything that would have safety implications (e.g., I turned down a friend who begged me to repair his trailer hitch system). Still, for basic "stick it together" applications, this does a great job for MIG on mild steel. Once I mounted it on a cart along with a bottle, it was much more convenient to roll it out and use it for quick and dirty jobs. ... show more

  • Worth the money !!!
This little welder is exactly what I needed. I was torn between this welder and the weld pro 210 lcd. The weld pro jumped to about 900 so I then took the chance on this welder. It comes with everything you need to get going. And it also comes with the knurled drive role for flux core which I had to do some digging to see if it did before I purchased it. I have been running it on 120 and it does great! I havnt really tried to weld anything over an 1/8 thick but I have welded some real thin stuff and it does good. I have only used flux core in it so far so I can’t comment on how well it does with gas. The only complaint I would say I have with it is when it’s going and I’m welding the spool makes this weird rubbing noise every once in a while. ... show more

  • Very good value for the money.
Seems to put down a very good weld bead on mig or stick. I was pleasantly surprised that it seems to work well as a power source for scratch start tig, on steel no aluminum, this is a dc machine only. this is more of a hobby for me I have no formal welding training.

  • Very powerful mig welder
Purchased 2 years ago, have not put it to much use but the times I have, I can tell you that its a bang for the buck. Very smooth feel to it. I have welded with very good industrial mig welders and I feel better using my everlast mig welder. Planning on buying the 251si, which seems like a beast; for the tig function. I do not know if it is worth spending twice the cost on Miller or Lincoln due to the 5-year warrant that Everlast offers. ... show more

  • I am happy to say I have zero regrets about buying it
I was hesitant about buying an Everlast welder at first, but after using this welder for several months now, I am happy to say I have zero regrets about buying it. I have yet to hit the limit on the duty cycle, and I daresay it holds a smoother arc than our 400 amp Lincoln at work. I have yet to try it out with a spool gun, but I have confidence it will work just fine. Also, Veteran Everlast Protip: You can use a Small Block Chevy crank bolt washer to shim up the spool if it's a little sloppy. It works like a charm. ... show more

  • The best value in a welder.
The welder arrived in perfect condition. I used the thickness settings guide on the inside of the door for a couple test welds on exhaust tubing and 3/16 angle iron. This welder creates at puddle quickly, had great penetration and weld flawlessly.
