Wow I'm so surprised how soft if it given most shiny distressed velvets I've come across in bedding are a crunchier or scratchier. I love it! It gives that luxe look but still cozy soft so it's actually functional to sleep in rather than a purely decorative piece. At first glance out of the box it's a little wrinkly and uneven, I now assume that's from the vacuum presser's packaging because after washing it it's become even softer and more beautiful and everything has evened to a nice distressed velvet look. Just made up our king sized bed…this is definitely NOT oversized. Would barely cover the mattress and so glad I left the bed skirt on! The color is nice bit odd variations. I’m familiar with velvet nap but this is easily mistaken for discoloration. On the positive, it’s very soft and a nice weight and the color works with the rest of our decor.
