We have a long strip at either side of our house and I bought these to mount at each end, so we can see our dogs at night. I charged them in the sun for 3 days as recommended and mounted them to our vinyl fence (the wide eaves of our house would have blocked the solar panel if we mounted it on the wall). So far they work well. My dogs have to be fairly close to them for the motion detector to detect them (within 6-8 feet or so) but that’s not a big deal. The instructions did say to use a 1/4” drill bit for the anchors which was way too big. However a 3/16” was too small so I ended up not using the anchors. The lights are not heavy at all so I don’t think it will be a problem. All in all, a good product for a good price! ... show more

I've installed a bunch of these around my home. They are very bright. Hopefully they'll stand up to the hot Texas sun! Time will tell.

After reading the caution of short range or poor sensitivity for the motion sensor and so-so brightness on many of 5his type of product, I took a chance with this product. First the "bad" - 1. the range of angle for the solar panel is slightly more limited than I wanted, however it turned out fine and not a concern. 2. the side lights aren't 360 degree adjustable. I would prefer them to be square and more adjustable but not a deal breaker. They can be sufficiently adjusted. 3. the lights light up about a 25' area. its sufficiently bright but not "military spotlight" bright. it allows you to see but not blind. Now the rest. 1. the motion detector has too much range for the front of my house. It triggers evertime a car goes by. 2. front of house gets sun, back gets light but not direct sun. both charged and work fine. it's been a week but so far so good. Rain was not an issue. If the price works for you, its worth a shot unless you are looking for wired spotlight brightness (which you won't get from non-wired lights) ... show more

Fellow customers, please, when you purchase a battery-operated piece of equipment, read the charging instructions before you attempt to operate it. If you can't understand the instructions, get someone who can understand the instructions to help you. Of course, some companies have poorly written instructions, but this product's instructions for charging and operating this light are easy to understand. Still, English-as-second-language speakers may have problems understanding the instructions, and if you do, please, please have someone help you. Otherwise you may compromise the battery's effectiveness by operating a product before the battery has been fully charged. The instructions to this set of motion lights say to let the light's battery fully charge in the bright sunlight for two or three days before you switch the product's light setting to the "on" position, or else the battery's longevity may be compromised. Amazon sold this motion light to me labeled as new, and yet the light's switch was set to the "on" position when I pulled it out of its box, indicating that a previous customer may have messed with its settings. Resale of battery-operated products that have been returned by other customers and then labeled as new, even though their batteries have been compromised because they were not charged according to the instructions, is a major negative of buying rechargeable battery-operated products. In the best of all possible worlds, such returned merchandise would be properly inspected after having been returned. But we don't live in such a world. ... show more
