Easy setup, easy to use and 4K Quality viewing. Took some tweaking to get everything set up correctly in regards to the security notifications, but no complaints from me. Solar charging works as advertised and battery ran down to 20% during minimal winter sunlight. Been using the eufy security cameras for 5 years now and first time using the solar power cams. Love them and no issues so far. App integration is detailed and easy to use. No lag time when receiving notifications or viewing live view remotely. I started off using the original Arlo system which was good at the time but required battery changes every 6 months and was frequently falsely triggered by wasps and birds. The newer cameras may have improved on this but require an ongoing paid subscription. I switched to a Blink system which did not require a paid subscription for local storage, but was plagued by frequent false triggers from birds and wasps. The blink cameras were also pretty low resolution. Both of these systems had considerable lag in motion detection. These new Eufy cameras and base station are far superior to either of the previous systems in numerous ways. 1. They can be set to only detect people, or people and cars. 2. They have much higher resolution. 3. They have much much better night vision. 4. They have massive rechargeable batteries with solar charging built in and include a separate solar panel if needed. 5. They have video and audio 6. They have enhanced Radar detection which eliminates lag in motion detection. 7. They have many customizable features including geofencing and privacy zones. 8. They also do not require a subscription to use any of the features listed above. The only negative is that ads are displayed on the app used to control the cameras (like many other free apps) but that is understandable given you are getting many features others require a paid subscription to get. The media could not be loaded. The two photos at the left above show backyard and driveway in almost complete darkness. There was very low stray light above the fence and from the sky. I walked around in the areas and could hardly see where I was walking. You have 4 choices for night shots. Standard (ambient light), Daylight (brighter with a little light added), Spotlight (dual led lights with more power usage) and infrared night black and white vision. The other two photos of my front porch shows coverage of the entire front of the house with double cross coverage of my porch. I also have an older Euphy camera that looks straight across the porch into the street. Nothing gets onto my porch without getting a face and 360 degrees recording. Today I caught two loose neighbor dogs fertilizing my grass 🤬. Before these new cameras I was the janitor for cleanup with no idea about the source. These new Euphy S3 Pro cameras are awesome. They have a 135 degree viewing angle , 8X zoom, 4K video quality, AI recognition of faces, vehicles, pets, and other motion. They have large solar panels so they charge themselves if positioned in a sunny location and come with a solar panel or more if needed for cameras mounted in low light areas. The mounting hardware is improved and easier to position the cameras. The only dislike is that the mounting holes in the base of the camera mounting post need to be slotted. Drilling in bricks is very difficult to keep exact hole spacing since masonry drill bits try to wander when starting holes. There are a bunch of other features that are available also. Like periodic timed snapshots so you don’t need to continually record. Then play it back like a movie. The radar AND infrared motion detection is a great improvement. The radar finds a moving object and seems to turn on the motion detection to record. I don’t know if that is exactly what is happening but I do know that moving objects don’t slip by undetected, unlike my older Euphy cameras. Watch several videos before you buy them. They are pricy but you get a lot for your money. A set of cameras comes with the newest S380 home base. Upgradeable with a hard drive to get 16TB of data storage. These new cameras and improved Home Base are magnificent!! The best part is you don’t have to pay a fortune for a contractor to run cables all over place around the house to make them work. I installed my 4 cameras and Home Base in about 6 hours. (Brick drilling and masonry bit re-sharpening). The instructions are very clear and the cameras and Home Base link up to each other with a push button and tone. Easy peasy! ... show more
