I’ve had several home security cameras in the past, and I used to install some professionally, so I have no problem saying these are by far my favorite. The AI Motion detection isn’t perfect, but has been getting better as the system learns. Notifications to my phone are near immediate, and the delay from live to my device is only around one second. The local storage is awesome, no need to pay extra for cloud storage to save video clips! Video quality is solid, live is a little bit low-res but saved clips are in excellent 4K. The media could not be loaded. I bought these a couple months ago to replace a set of Arlo cameras after getting annoyed that they started charging a monthly fee for their services. Eufy had what I wanted with a good quality resolution cameras, local storage, and a number of AI features. First, the good - - super easy setup - great quality camera resolution with enough settings (ie. Spotlight, night vision settings, activity zones, etc). The recording attached is from the middle of the night with only the camera spotlight providing the light, and it’s still good quality. - long battery life (after 2 months I still have 70%+ in all cameras, including some that record frequently - the local storage is great. Even with just the included storage, I have more than I need to record multiple months. When accessing old recordings, it’s super fast to pull them up and play them, which was an issue with some other camera sets I tried (like TP- Link Tapo cameras with onboard storage) - the app is easy to use and seems reliable - I have tested geolocation options which worked well, but also scheduled options and the camera accurately changes modes in both settings - No subscription fees! The areas for improvement: - the app doesn’t allow you to mix scheduling and geolocation modes, so if you wanted to put it on a schedule when you are Home, and arm all cameras when you are Away that’s not an option for you - the AI isnt great - while I like being able to name the people in footage, Eufy doesn’t often recognize them in the future. It’s not a big deal as the camera still recognizes its a Person, but just cannot tell me who without some time. Overall, I would still highly recommend these for someone looking for a subscription-free, high quality cameras set. Buy when they are on sale and save yourself $150-200 of the list price. ... show more

Installation and app setup was pretty easy. The camera quality was outstanding. Battery life is good so far for about 2 weeks plus now. Other camera app you have to pay a monthly fee for video storage. With Eufy is free and save into your home base with 16gb built in. Future plain to upgrade 1TB ssd hard drive to save my video. ... show more

Update to prior review: After hearing back from customer service, with further instructions not included in set up directions or the auto app set up feature, it turns out each individual camera can be set to pick up motion from vehicles and animals in addition to people. So no longer very disappointed in this purchase, it is working pretty well. There is about a 10 second delay in the vehicle motion detection and the notification alert. The mics pick up sound so if that is important to you those work well. We shut ours off as they record everything we were saying. The set up is challenging (the videos that show it to be simple are not) there is a specific sequence, and the written directions don’t make that clear. The voice activated directions will only work if you got the other steps in correct order. In a positive note, the camera images, once triggered from people are pretty clear, so that is good. And the night light when triggered is also bright but blinks so the image shows on and off. The facial recognition is limited in that even if it recognizes the person, the event will record and the notification will still occur. The app isn’t super easy to navigate and comes with no instructions, I spent a number of hours over multiple days messing around trying to figure out where events went, how to delete them, the difference between events and live video (oh and that is one thing that is pretty good, if you are watching the app in live mode you can see cars and deliveries coming and going.) Bottom line: the set up and instructions need to be improved, the app can use some more intuitive function. Easy set up and works as advertised. I like that you don't need to subscribe to a service in order to have access to the events it captures. We don't need full features from a subscription just basic monitoring and alerts. The facial recognition works well and it pretty much ignores the dogs in the yard. ... show more
