I purchased this as an easy grab and go kit in case of emergency. It is great! The lantern is bright, the solar panel works well, and there is room inside the water bottle for additional personal items (contacts, medication, etc.) I am thinking of purchasing one for each member of my family!

I believed the reviews, and I'm glad I did! I have quite a bit of safety and emergency equipment--something I've been researching for a few years now--but I wanted something lightweight to carry on winter hikes or long summer paddles, you know, just in case. The bottle comes with a water filter straw, bandaids, whistle, etc. and I've been able to fit one of those mylar emergency blankets, a glow stick, and a phone charger in there as well. The light works great, and yesterday on an overcast late afternoon, fall in Michigan's UP, I charged my Iphone from 20% to 65% in a little over an hour. It's is handy (and lightweight) for hikes and I can clip it to my paddle board or kayak for a bit more peace of mind when out on the big lake.     • Fantastic kit!
Used this lantern on a Girl Scout trip. It was great. The battery was so peered the lantern the entire night as I had several first time campers. It has a great feature where you can set the light to low. Haven’t used the straw yet but was so happy to have the emergency accessories. The girls and I did a whole wilderness preparedness badge and kept referring back to the contents. I think I need another for just in case type emergencies! ... show more

This is a great kit for backpackers. Waterproof storage, great light and charging capability. Could use a bag to put the supplies in if used as a water bottle.

    • NOT Worth every penny! READ UPDATE
I've never seen anything like this before and I had to check it out since I'm collecting Prepper Supplies and this is a true gem of a find. The bottle is a soft silicone material that is great for saving space. The solar charger is extremely handy and works great. It also charges fast electronically too. Now for the kit, you get the Water Filter Straw which filters up to 1k liters Some Band-Aids, Some Bee Sting pads, Some alcohol pads, The USB Cord to charge the unit, a clip, a Whistle, and a Firestarter Kit. This impressive little set is perfect for emergency supplies, camping, or just everyday use. The light on the lid is REALLY bright and has different modes of use. I have to mention that it does NOT give your water a funky taste like some water containers do. I can't find any fault with anything in the kit but I will say this, since the water container is silicone you cannot let anything sharp poke it obviously so keep that in mind. This is also an AMAZING Gift Idea for anyone. On a personal note, on my next payday I'm going to order another one because we have a neighbor who had a breakdown and he has fallen on hard times and has no electricity or water and we are the only ones on this road who will help him and he is here every day to charge his phone, get a jug of water & a bite to eat and this is EXACTLY what he needs. If you order one maybe consider ordering a second one to give to a Homeless Person? This kit could make someone's life so much easier! UPDATE: Alright I'm not bragging on it anymore. On my second use it just quit working. Won't charge with solar or electricity. It was not dropped or mishandled, never got wet, nothing.. it just stopped working. For $20 this is a great piece of kit to have in your car. Barely takes up any space and if you end up in a pinch you've got a little bit of charge for your phone, a light to help change a tire, the ability to filter water from a lake/river/canal/puddle, plus some other extras that could come in handy. Also really nice that it's self contained and easy to store. I plan to pick up a few more for my wife and kids' cars, because better safe than sorry. ... show more

Used this lantern while camping and it worked great. I left it in the sun all day and the light worked great once the sun went down. Used the usb connector for a quick charge of my phone too. I have it ready in case of power outages during fire season. This is a very convenient and smart product.
