  • Works fine, some parts don't fit
The thing works just like it should, but the standoffs that are included are not the correct length, and they are too small in diameter. I had to use some bigger ones I had lying around with the length sanded to 11mm. Other than that it's a nice unit

  • Works Great
This is just a combo USB hub with an Ethernet bridge - simple enough, but essential for a non-W Raspberry Pi Zero, as those otherwise have no network connectivity and only one free micro USB port. Easy, transparent, no issues with drivers or any other complications, and it's a great value. Sure, you should probably buy a Zero W, eliminating the need for Ethernet, but you'll still want those USBs. BTW, I'm using this just for development; the deployed project doesn't require USB or network access. ... show more

  • No Instructions
Looks like a good product but I spent at least 30 minutes trying to figure it out. This is my first time assembling a raspberry pi and there are no instructions on amazon, in the packaging, on the website, or youtube. Also, it did not come with the pins to attach to the board. Fortunately I already had it from another kit. ... show more

  • Works right of the box
Worked right out of the box. Ethernet and USB ports work as expected. I didn't use the included standoffs as the 40 pin header and micro USB to micro USB adapter hold the whole thing firmly to the Pi. Plenty of clearance for a small heat sink on the Pi. The indicator lights are a nice bonus. There are two cons: 1) The Pi runs 1c to 2c warmer. 2) The Pi will probably draw more current. I haven't checked to see how much more. Neither of these cons are an issue for me. ... show more

  • The single most useful hat for your raspberry pi zero!
You should buy one of these with your raspberry pi zero as it just plugs into the boards existing micro usb port, no configuration necessary! Now you can plug in mouse, keyboard, sd card reader, and plug it in directly via ethernet cable so it is automatically online when it boots up, no need to configure wifi. Without this hat you need a bunch of adapters or a separate external dongle. ... show more

  • Essentially a usb 3 port hub with RJ-45 port. Works perfectly (but slow), with annoying LEDS.
I was able to install this on my Pi Zero W without any problems. It allowed me to clean up a Frankenstein collection of USB hub + USB wired network adapter. The GPIO connector doesn't have to be used, but I dropped it in place to provide support. I didn't even bother to solder it. I hope I don't regret that decision later on. I used this "case" to put everything together: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01NBKFPEJ The way the USB adapter is exposed makes me a little nervous, and I may slap some electrical tape on the back of it for my piece of mind. One problem I have is the bright and annoying LEDs. I've already disabled the LEDs on the Pi Zero, now these lights are always on. Documentation is non-existent, and I'm new to using Raspberries, so tracking down how to disable the LEDs seems daunting. Edit to update: The response from Waveform tech support was that the LEDs can not be disabled. Additionally, the transfer rates for this device are very slow. This could be an issue if you need high transfer rates, as opposed to additional connectivity in a nice compact package. I'll do some testing and post an update. ... show more

  • Plug and play, Easy to use
The media could not be loaded. Perfect board, this HAT works with my Pi Zero and let me do projects while using the GPIO pins for other devices connected. I have ethernet and up to three USB ports available and it works perfectly. Plug and play .ales it fast to add on. I highly recommend this for your projects! ... show more

  • A must have if you're going to buy a raspberry pi zero
Cool little hub definitely came in handy for the raspberry pi zero especially with the lack of USBS on the thing this definitely filled the void with that and made the hole in that process a little bit easier too if you're going to buy a zero it might not be a horrible idea to get this to go along with it. ... show more
