Both faces are fully polished. Designed for striking cold chisels, brick chisels, punches, star drills, spikes and hardened nails. Both faces are beveled. This drilling hammer has an 11 in. jacketed and textured yellow fiberglass handle which allows for heavier blows in an environment where there is limited swing. It hits things hard and doesn't take dents. Looks decent while doing it. You can smash glass, smash ash or smash thumbs with this thing just as good as anything else made out of 2 lb of steel and a fiberglass handle it's just the paint job is superior. I do like it though, rubberized bottom half or so of the handle which is a bit flared out at the very bottom so if you've got like a little ring or something you're going to try and put this tool into it's a little tight at first but then it slides right in when you put some spit on it. It feels well built head is nice and tight it's epoxy on top to help resist it from falling apart and it's got a bit of a clear coat on it so it won't get all rusty real fast until you wear that coating off. ... show more

High quality hammer. I tried to use this to split wood in a splitting device. While it works fine for that purpose, I feel the handle is a bit short and places my hand too close to the wood splitting device. I purchased another ESTWING hammer with a longer handle and that resolved my concerns.
