  • Great to spark good conversation with old or new friends
Edition: 2nd Edition
Had fun with a group of good friends each picking a question to answer AND then the rest of us answered the same question! Tried it again at Thanksgiving with a good friend and her new boyfriend. Wonderful way to get to know each other.

  • Great game, wish it came with printed instructions.
Edition: 2nd Edition
I'll start with my minor annoyance, which is that the instructions were not printed in the box, but rather are accessible via a QR code. Fine, at least while QR codes are still peak technology and someone is maintaining the Esther Perel website. But if I'm being sold a physical object, then the instructions should be physically with the item, especially since they could be needed years down the line. At least the instructions are pretty easy; one could just write then down. Otherwise, the game itself is a great concept and well-executed. I recently pulled it out at a party, and it was so well-received. It provides an opportunity to connect with others on a deeper level, where folks share stories, values, beliefs—deeper than 'what do you do' / 'what have you been up to recently.' At the same time it doesn't put folks horribly on the spot or force them to share things beyond their comfort zone, as everyone can choose from multiple prompts. ... show more

  • A game for laughter, flirting and getting to know you
Edition: 1st Edition
The media could not be loaded. I've used this game on dates, snuggled in bed with a lover, pulling cards from each other's hands like a private game of tarot. Pre-selecting cards for the stack so we can ask each other the questions we were too shy to ask outright. "What do you think of marriage?" "what's a fantasy you've never shared" I've used this game at business meetings, 12 hour whirlwind strategy workshops aimed at getting to know one another and getting answers in record time. Pulling out the racy cards and stacking the deck with questions that will help a client reveal their persona & put language to challenges we might face together in the future "my biggest power struggle is with..." And I've used the game at dinner parties, questions tucked under plates at the start of the night, to open the meal with something a little deeper than "hi, hello, what do YOU do." It's a salve for the introverts and a fun way to go a bit deeper for those of us a bit allergic to vulnerability -- just stack the deck in favor of the vibe you want, break the rules, and play the game as it was intended (to connect) vs. as it was written. ... show more

  • Love this game
Edition: 2nd Edition
Love this game from Esther Perrel. Some questions are challenging even for us being married for so long. It is not cheap but it's worth it. From time to time I take some questions again. It is good for people who are just starting and for people who have been in a relationship for a while even many years, the stories we make are helpful, because we all have stories. I would recommend the game. it's worth starting or saving a relationship. ... show more

  • Too intimate
Edition: 2nd Edition
I bought this as an ice breaker game for work. There is different types of questions that are color coded for various levels of intimacy and interaction. However, even some of the less intimate questions feel a bit unsafe to me in a group of people you work with or are casually acquainted with. Revealing personal faults or vulnerabilities may not be the best thing to do with people you aren’t friends with, don’t know well or in a professional relationship with. These aren’t conversation/ice breaker type questions as far as I am concerned. An ice breaker question is, what would be your favorite vacation spot? I agree these are a little more boring but more appropriate for work. ... show more
