First the spa was delivered by two guys from a local trucking company that clearly did not have any knowledge of how to even get this off the truck. One of them was in his 60s and the other clearly did NOT want to move this 850 lb hot tub. They arrived without any possible way of delivering it to my back yard. It took them over 40 minutes to figure out how to get it off the truck. They had a hand cart from there. The trucking company told them to leave it in the road. The gentleman driver was not going to do this though. If it weren't for my contractor, who was there to do another job, and his 2 guys, along with my husband and son, the hot-tub would have stayed on the truck or in the road. It took all 7 of them to move it to my arranged place. Be sure you have someone to place it where you want it before it arrives. Other than that, it has been a pleasure. A couple things however, we cannot find the make and model of the replacement filter, we had to bring it to a Spa-Pool place to have them match it. Also, we cannot find a switch to turn it off temporarily, so we could replace the filter, we had to turn it off at the breaker. The directions can be confusing, it is a large book. The lights are great, we turn them all off so we can enjoy the stars after a bit. Overall, it was worth the money we spent. We had 5 people in it last night and it was plenty large enough for us and we could have fit another person easily. It heats nicely. ... show more

My story is long and painful.... First off Essential Hot Tubs does not exist, apparently Amazon rebrands it, it is made by Strong Spas and it apparently comes with an inferior 1 year warranty to actually branded Strong Spas (I can't verify that though, jyst what I have been told by sales people and support). NO WHERE IS THIS DISCLOSED PRIOR TO PURCHASE OR EVEN AFTER PURCHASE. Almost immediately the water feature didn't work. No problem, not a big deal I thought. Then about 4-6 months in I had a leak, then I started looking at how to contact Essential Hot Tubs for repair only to discover Essential Hot Tubs doesn't exist. After hours of research I gave up and tried to fix it, no luck, it needs a part, so now after my warranty expired (apparently) I find people selling a similar model as a Strong Spa at a Home and Garden Expo and they give me the contact number. Well as my warranty expired I am hoping to get it escalated to get the repair done. Would I buy again.....A BIG NO to that. Amazon huge fail on customer disclosure and service. Strong Spas fail, but hoping that they step up and help as when it wasn't leaking I liked it. So far they seem to be addressing it. Right now I wouldn't recommend anyone buy anything of substanial value on Amazon until Customer Service and disclosure improves, to much a risk. ... show more

We bought the Polara model which sells for around $7,000. They had one unit left in stock that said large blemish on corner of unit, but 100% functional for $5,000. We took a chance and we are so happy we did. The frame inside is a little off but was an easy fix and there are actually no blemishes on the tub at all. Saved two grand so right off the top we were happy. The more we use the tub and compare it to others we come across, the happier we are with it. Very strong pump and jets, perfect seating arrangement. I compared similar tubs at every local store in the San Francisco Bay Area and the greater Sacramento area and could not find a better deal, even at the $7,000 price. Delivery team even set it in the exact place I wanted all the way in the back corner of my yard. We are some happy hot tubbers! ... show more

The spa looks very nice, however, there are several features that need fixing. First of all, the drain hose is located inside the unit. To drain the spa you have to take off the back cover by removing a number of screws and insulation. Then you have to put the cover back on with the screws and insulation. It's difficult to get the screws in the same exact place and eventually the holes will wear out. We have a lot of grandkids and use the hot tub a lot in the summer and so we frequently need to drain it to keep the water clean. Secondly, the controls for lights and temperature control are not user friendly. To raise the temperature you have to push the light button and the temp button. You need to have the user manual with you to be able to control the functions. Third, the rubber head rests are very cheap and keep coming off and floating in the water. Also, the filter keeps popping up and doesn't stay screwed in place. Also, I thought the ad said the unit had an ozone filter but apparently it doesn't. Lastly, there seems to be a slow leak somewhere because the water goes down a foot or more within a month in the winter when we're rarely using the spa. Quite disappointed but it would be a hassle to replace the unit. ... show more

I was able to install and get it started up by myself. My husband and I needed a few extra hands to move it where we wanted it, but wiring and set up was not difficult. We’ve had it for a year now with no problems. Works great!

The mark down is for shipping issues: minor damage upon delivery and shipping delays. Amazon customer service was awesome in tracking down the delay and provided a discount for our inconvenience. The hottub is exactly what we hoped for. The lights make the whole tub glow, and my wife LOVES the multiple options of colors and effects. The heater is efficient, and the “economy” setting kerps the water at temp without driving up the electric bill. The seating options and different jets patterns and multiple pump settings allow the perfect blend of relaxation and physical therapy. We added a cover and cover lifter to make removal and placement easier. Highly recommend these additions. ... show more
