I am very pleased with this MAXcam 360c. I wanted a dashcam for my truck to be prepared for any insurance scam attempt or accident. Adding the M1 or M2 wasn't an option as my existing Escort Max II was not compatible. I came across this MAXcam 360c and thought I would upgrade my old MAX II that frankly alerted so often to false signals I rarely used it anymore and just relied on Waze to inform me of potential speed traps. I was hesitant because of the cost, and more so because of a lot of negative reviews about the Drive Smarter app, which seemed kind of key to realizing the full potential of this unit. I noted that a lot of those negative reviews were more than a year old, so I took the chance. Boy, am I glad I did. I have been running this MAXcam for a little over a week now and it has not picked up a single false signal. I run it in AutoLoK mode in the city/suburbs, and then Highway when otherwise. I disabled X band, and toggled on K, and Ka "super wide." I live in a very police heavy area and I am only getting alerted when there is a police car nearby running radar. I have not encountered many issues with the Drive Smarter app. It connects within 30 seconds and I can edit the settings easily, and the map works great. I've had it disconnect or be unable to connect to the unit once or twice in a week, and I simply close out the app and then restart it and everything works great. Is the Drive Smarter map as good as Waze or Google Maps? Of course not, and I doubt it ever will be. What would be amazing is if Escort struck a partnership deal with either Waze or Google to integrate their units with their map. I think they would completely own the radar detector market if they did this. But all in all, I am very pleased with this purchase and feel like I am well protected from a false insurance claim, as well as an overzealous state trooper. ... show more

Own 4 of these and 1 redline .. all are superb.. not sure the redline is any better as they are all amazing quality and saved me more times than I can count .. have 4 360c max in my BMWs and Range Rover and the redline in my Ferrari f8. Cannot say good enough things , but buy the hard wire kit ..

I have a old original Passport Max that has worked great for years, but the gps no longer works, the screen is very dim, and the mount squeaks terrible. I thought I would replace it with a new detector. I chose the 360c mkii, and used it for nearly a month. I can't count how many times I passed a sheriff or state patrol in the median, and there was not a sound from my detector. Sometimes it would alert after I passed the patrol car, or not at all. It sure alerted me to every grocery store door and everything else that was not important. I was annoyed after my last long drive, and put up my old passport max, and ran them at the same time. On my next two hour drive, my old max alerted me to 13 KA signals, 10 of which I was able to find the patrol car. The new 360c mkii did not give me one KA alert. The old one picked up a few of the cars miles ahead of me. I have updated the firmware and database, but it seems this radar detector is almost incapable of detecting the Genesis 2 radar guns that most everyone in CO seems to have. Maybe mine was bad, but the Vortex review of this detector shows it not alerting as well. I guess I am going to try a Uniden. ... show more
