Set up: The biggest problem I had was expecting it to be much harder than it was—"This seems to simple and easy. What is the documentation not telling me?" The documentation was also written by someone who knows English. It's only shortcoming is that it's a PDF file. However, it's well enough put together that cross-referencing is easy. Unit has a nice, small footprint considering everything it does. ONE (YAY!) paper tray with plenty of capacity. The touch screen can swing out and up if the printer is below eye level, but it also works perfectly if left flush with the front of the printer. For us, this is great, as the printer sits on a rack at about eye level. The touch screen is small, but easy to read and very well designed. Ink filling is very different if you are accustomed to ink cartridge printers—and frankly, easier with less mess! The only problem we foresee is buying more Epson branded ink. The Epson web site may just not like our browser. We have plenty of time to resolve the issue—the ink reservoirs are ENORMOUS compared to cartridges. It will be quite a while before we need more. We haven't tried printing on high quality paper or glossy photo paper, but the print quality is still quite good, more than adequate for our needs. Extrapolating to better paper from the print quality so far, it might well be adequate for most DTP. Online reviews we've seen indicate that photo print quality is quite good. This printer replaced my POS Hewlett Packard all in one printer. I had nothing but problems with the HP. This one works flawlessly. When I want i to print, it actually prints! No more arguing and coaxing the printer to print. No paper jams! It prints a lot slower than the HP, but I'm in no hurry. I figure that the time it takes to print a page in high quality on the Epson is actually faster than me sending a print job to the HP, have it not print, then having to reset the connection (sometimes twice) before it finally prints. It was a bit expensive, but worth it because I can print from my iPhone now! Set up was super easy on my MacBook, and didn’t have to do anything on my phone! It’s a bit slow, but for me it’s fine and the print quality is good. I also love it that I don’t have to worry about ink for awhile!

This is my 2nd EcoTank Printer Overall I love them and would give the 4.3 stars Pros: The ink lasts a really long time. I print a lot of pages and the ink can last me up to 6 months. You can use "off-market" ink and your ink cost will be nil so the printer is worth it. Wireless, fax, scanning and Auto Document Feeder (ADF) great for at home business use. I like that everything closes up to keep the dust out as well. It makes it look boxy, but who cares. Touch screen. Set up is ridiculously easy with your phone and you can download the software for printing apps onto your laptop/desktop. CONS: My biggest/only issue with them is the flimsy materials/moving parts. This is replacing an ET-4500 and it had the same issue. 2 weeks ago the part that holds the paper just fell. It wasn't being overburdened w/ paper it just fell and there was no part replacement for it so I had to get this one. In this model, they have increased the size & position of the paper tray and the output tray. The output tray is built different so it is stronger than in the ET4500, but the plastic should be much more sturdier for both trays. Just moving it back and forth I realize that I have to be careful. This is my only issue w/ this product. Also word to the wise. You should print something, even just a test page, at least once a week. This, imho, keeps the ink from drying up and clogging the nozzle. I don't consider the price to be a sticking point b/c when you look at how much you save in ink over the long hall, the printer pays for itself in a years time vs. hunting for the exact ink cartridge. ... show more

The print quality could be better, it is poor even for an inkjet. The printer is also built very flimsy; it feels like a toy when you handle it. It was built to the lowest standards possible. After 12 months, the printer started getting paper(jam) errors. I've been a PC tech for Fortune 500 companies and school systems for over 20 years and can replace any printer part. I've looked at all the gears, blown out the paper feed with industrial blowers, and there are no broken parts(gears) or jammed paper remnants. It's just a plain old cheaply built POC. If all Epson products are this bad, I would look elsewhere for your next printer—like I will. ... show more

I have had HP printers for decades. They are fussy and constantly not working properly. When I try to get customer support, they are completely unhelpful. I decided to try something different and I couldn't be happier with this Epson machine. I love not having to buy cartridges (which half the time don't work), and the ink is super easy to fill with no mess. This printer interfaces perfectly with my laptop and phone and works every single time. I have been using it a bunch and the ink has barely moved. The copies are perfect and nearly impossible to tell from the originals. If I could give this more than five stars, I would! ... show more

I like the ecotank feature, as it will save me alot of money on ink. My only beef with this printer is the automatic document feeder isn't consistent, and the scanner software is poor.
