Top Amazon Reviews

🚀 Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

The Epson XP15000 Printer exhibits proficient printing capabilities with high-quality results, notably when used in combination with Epson ink and paper. Ease of use regarding setup is mixed with some finding the process smooth while others faced challenges. Its ability to print on different types of paper including thick cardstock has been appreciated. However, there have been issues reported about the printer unfairly indicating the absence of paper in the feed or a paper jam.

Pros

  • 👍 Produces high quality prints, especially when using Epson ink and paper
  • 👍 Successful printing on varied paper types including heavy cardstock
  • 👍 Handles multiple sheets in the rear feed
  • 👍 Good speed and processing power

Cons

  • 👎 Regularly indicates no paper in the feed or a paper jam, when not applicable
  • 👎 Initial setup can be challenging for some individuals
  • 👎 Consumes a significant amount of ink, requiring frequent cartridge changes
  • 👎 Lack of thorough instructions for technical maintenance, such as cleaning the roller

Should I Buy It?

If high-quality prints, ability to handle various paper types, including thick cardstock, and fast printing are your priorities, then this Epson XP15000 Printer would be a solid choice. However, if you'd prefer a printer that doesn't require frequent ink changes or does not pose minor challenges during initial setup, you may wish to look for alternatives.

  • Correction: Excellent value, quality and ease of use for color & grey scale; Wi-Fi firmware updates
Style: XP-15000
Straightforward to install on my home WiFi network. The controls and screen are easy to navigate. Firmware updates can be done via WiFi—so much better than downloading an installer to a computer. Surprised that the maximum borderless print size is A3+. I don’t care, because I don’t mind a thin border on 13x19” paper, and intend to print 12x18” or smaller anyway for framing. Good results on real-world test prints with default color and tonal settings in Apple Photos. Astonishingly, perfect color and tonal range in my full-spectrum, full-dynamic range test print of a storefront on 13x19” Matte paper. A garden scene had true hues—borderless on 4x6” glossy paper—but was a bit dark. You wouldn’t notice if you only saw the print. Full tonal range B&W image on glossy paper lost some highlight detail and mid-tone pop compared to what I got from a commercial print shop using Luster paper, but I’m not seeing a color cast reported by others, which is very good news. I bought Epson again after a long hiatus because 1) I have a big stock of paper from pre-covid days, 2) ink cost is not a problem for my limited photo printing needs, and 3) the recent price drop offered a very low up-front cost. This one is smaller and very much quieter than its predecessor. It offers Air Print connectivity, but I prefer WiFi, even from mobile devices. Pretty happy so far. Already useful and B&W may improve with experimentation. ... show more

  • For Professional Photos or Inkjet Films
Style: XP-15000
Ok so I’ve been using Epson printers for about 15 years now . There is a big difference between their production machines and basic workhorse desktop machines . This printer is a production machine . No features at all. It’s basic function is to make stunning prints . If you are a professional printer like myself … this is your machine for Photography and ink jet films for screen printing . This printer is the replacement for the 1430 . It is super easy to setup ( took me about 30 mins ) some of the newer features is WiFi connectivity, which is nice if you wanna spit out a print from another room ( I have 6 computers in my shop ) it also has a automated arm that comes out to catch the prints from falling on the floor ( 1430 printers always fell to the floor ) which is nice so you can send print and walk away . All in all this is an excellent printer for the cost ( it’s about half the price of the 1430 I paid ) . People are leaving bad reviews because they simply don’t understand this printer is not for hobbyist … it was built for professional printers . Find a workhorse printer if you wanna scan or fax . Great job again Epson ! ... show more

  • Epson is no longer the best.
Style: XP-15000
What happened to Epson? They used to be the best. I have had several Epson Large Format printers. I use them for professional printing of documents and art. They have always been great. Recently I purchased this large format photo printer for around $320. It is, hands down, the WORST printer I have ever owned. The construction seems cheap and rickety. The paper jams ever 5 or so pages printed, the ink smears, and now after having it for just over 18 months, an automatic firmware update just RUINED the whole machine. Suddenly, it won't recognize the cartridges. This is, according to the internet, done on purpose to discourage the use of aftermarket ink carts. Thing is... these are EPSON cartridges. Even if they weren't, it is ILLEGAL to do that anyway. I have had to fight this printer every step of the way since I bought it... and the photo prints aren't great anyway. That is it... I am DONE with Epson. ... show more

  • Highly Recommend
Style: XP-15000
This is my first dedicated photo printer. I was pretty nervous after reading the reviews, but I am so glad I didn't listen. I'm convinced a lot of the negative reviews are user error. I've printed a fair amount of photos already and I've never had an issue except one paper jam, and that was my fault. The print quality is amazing, although I find it seems the photos may print slightly darker than on any of my three displays. I've always had a very hateful relationship with printers, so when I set this up in 30 minutes I was absolutely shocked. Calibration is easy, I found and installed the drivers quickly, the paper loading is quick and seems to even be able to take that last sheet from the tray. Pros -Awesome print quality -Prints up to "13 -Easy to use -Rather quieter than expected Cons -Slightly heaver than I thought -Expensive ink -Decides to print photos with excessive banding then not do it again the second time after changing nothing, but only if the earth is at a right angle to Venus during an eclipse. Overall, I'm in love with this printer. I highly recommend it. ... show more

  • Takes really thick cardstock but often thinks it's out of paper when it isn't
Style: XP-15000
I got this printer a couple of months ago. I was specifically looking for a printer that would print on very thick cardstock. This printer does take my very thick 140 lb cardstock in the back feed, but after using it for about a month it started telling me there was no paper in the feed even though there is. Then it started to tell me there is a paper jam when there wasn't. The screen does have some tips to try if that keeps happening. One of the tips is to clean the roller, but they don't explain how to do that. I ended up having to find a you tube video from someone who explained how to do that. The fix they suggested did help, but I have a feeling I'm going to have to use that fix a lot. The other thing I wasn't expecting is how much ink I was going to have to buy. I also have an HP without the rear feed. I was thinking that I would be changing the ink cartridges with about the same amount of frequency, but in two months I have already changed all 6 colors at least twice some of them three times already at $21 a pop. If I had it to do over again I would probably be willing to spend more for a printer that has less problems with the feed and didn't need constant ink changing. ... show more

  • Great printer
Style: XP-15000
I use this printer to print out my digital watercolor paintings and drawings. Color is great and printer is quick. Little tough to set up but probably user error lol.
