  • Works n looks great
Color: White enhanced charging dock
It was packaged beautifully and came as advertised. There was no instructions and putting the rechargeable batteries in the controllers and realizing that the magnetic c charger actually plugged into the battery itself took me forever to figure out. I had never used a battery like that. But the lights on it make it look great in my son's playroom. We love it. ... show more

  • Keeps Oculus tidy during charging
Charging an Oculus the way it comes means you leave it on the table or counter while it's plugged in and the controllers are who-knows-where. Kind of messy. This charging station from Codogoy cleans up the mess and has a few other features besides. Read on. Inside the sturdy, decorated box you'll find the pieces to assemble your charging station, packed into cut foam. The packaging is very well done and my station arrived intact. You will need to assemble the station, which only involves inserting the two headset platforms into the slots in the circular housing. There are two rechargeable batteries, one for each controller, along with a USB-C button that you poke through the controller's battery cover and into a slot in the battery after it's installed in the controller. These buttons engage magnetic contacts on the charging base to keep your controller batteries fresh. There are rubber covers for the controllers that include retaining straps. The kit also includes a single cable, for connecting your headset to the charging base. Notably absent from this kit is any way to get wall power to it. To do this I needed to provide my own USB cable as well as a wall charger. The charging base will not work unless you find a way to get power to it with items that you supply yourself. The "operating manual" is a single piece of paper, printed on both sides, that describes the functional parameters and description. It doesn't tell you what's included in the kit, how to assemble it or use it, or anything else. It is, however, refreshingly absent of grammatical errors. To use this device you rest the headset on the platforms and plug the included cable into the headset and the base. Insert the controllers into their slots and listen for an audible "click" as the buttons engage the magnetic contacts. Then, find some way to get power to the base from the wall, using your own USB cable and power supply (or USB outlet, etc.). Once plugged in the LED on the base illuminates green, or red, which is supposed to indicate the charging status of the controller batteries. The circular charging housing cycles through various colors as documented in the manual. The headset has its own indicator to tell you its charging status, and the base has no indicator for the headset. On the plus side: This station really cleans up the mess when your game system is charging. It's compact and self-contained, and all your stuff is right there, so no hunting around to try to find the pieces next time you want to play. The rechargeable batteries are a great bonus and will help reduce the cost of supplying new batteries to the controllers. The colors look nice and you can switch the color cycle mode according to the manual. On the minus side: Inserting the controllers is a little finicky and I had to move them around to get the buttons to engage the contacts. One contact has a lot of spring in it and the other one hardly any, so this makes it more difficult to engage. It is easier to get them engaged if you remove the black retaining strap. The power indicator light was green all the time, except once it turned red, so I couldn't really tell what the light was indicating. It doesn't matter how long I used the controllers, that light is green almost all the time. Other observations: I'm not sure whether replacement controller batteries are available once these stop taking a charge. Honestly, I haven't looked for them, but the backup plan is to use regular batteries. Buying decision: I'm glad I acquired this for my Oculus system. At a minimum it helps keep the pieces together and tidy during charging. The included controller batteries are a great bonus. The colors that light up the circle are pretty. Just keep in mind that you need to provide your own cable to get power to it. This product is made in China. ... show more

  • Oculus charger

  • It works however .....
Color: White enhanced charging dock
I really wanted to give this 5 stars, however I had to take some stars for a few little annoyances. The fist this the active strap, it just gets in the way and you have to unhook it to charge the controller, so I just removed it completely. The second is that sometimes the battery in the left controller seems to loose connection and I have to hit the controller and it will turn on the controller. Other than that it seem to be pretty good. ... show more

  • Nice and Compact
Pros: Compact Will hold headsets with custom head straps LED lights can be turned off, set to one color and other options Controllers are easily placed Special AA battery with a USB-C port are sold on Amazon (if you need to replace) Cons: 5V/2A or 10-Watts in (Standard but would like to see more) I really like this charging station and it will replace one I am currently using. The controllers came with silicone 'gloves', but I use different handles too often for those to be practical. The station doesn't include a charger but does have a USB-A to USB-C cable. There is also a USB-female port on the base so you can use that to connect a cable to the headset for charging. Since only one cable is included, you'll have to find another one to charge the headset. The station is rated for 5V/2A or 10-Watts. It doesn't break out what wattage goes to the controllers, so it can be assumed that it will charge at 5 watts each if both are charging. While that is standard, it will mean that you'll get even less charging power when charging all three (headset and controllers) at the same time. Won't be a problem if charging overnight but keep that in mind if you want to play again in a few hours. At worst you can connect a second charger directly to the headset, so it gets full charging power. Bottom Line: A very nice station to keep you Quest and controllers neat and safe without clutter. ... show more
