First off, let me say this: I really want to love this Ottoman. Why wouldn't I? It's a really nice ottoman that's not only fireproof and water proof (allegedly), it also locks, which was the main selling point for me, so that I can keep certain valuables safe, when needed. Not to mention, it matches both my living room and bedroom furniture beautifully. The problem with it is that it already has a tear on the bottom of it and I haven't even had it 24 hours!! This is DEVASTATING and I'm very DISAPPOINTED, but instead of giving up on it, I'm returning it today and already have a replacement coming Thursday. This time, I know now to invest in something beforehand, that sticks to the bottom of it, protecting it from rips and tears while keeping it still for the times that I want to use it as only an ottoman and dont need it moving all over the floor. I will add to this post after some time after seeing if the replacement works or not...I'm really, really, really hoping it does because now I can't imagine how I ever did without this ottoman all my life!!!! *UPDATE: It's now November 24, 2024, so I've had this ottoman for over 10 months now and I'm still very pleased with my purchase. I'm not sure why the first one got a tear in it, but the replacement that I received in its place has held up just wonderfully. I still can't get over how well it matches both my living room and bedroom furniture and it looks as good as it did on the first day I got it. The locks still work great and I've never had a problem for the times when I needed to use them. I had forgotten to mention the first time around that it's also very easy to clean. I just take a wet rag with my favorite cleaner on it and just wipe it down and that's it - super easy!! I love it!! I was surprised this cloth like ottoman was sturdy enough to support my weight (180lbs). I love and hate the zipper. It secures the things inside which I like but also needed this to be a quick access situation (storing blankets and hangers). But I leave the zipper partially opened and it works. I also put in memory albums that could never be replace since they were taken in the first half of the 20th century & we didnt have digital then. Bought 2 of these and 1 of a larger size in September 2023. Put them on my deck all sealed and zipped up per the instructions using them for 2 months before winter set in . This spring opened up the deck they all appeared fine and in 2 days all 3 collapsed under weight of a person 1 resulted in a severe injury. The supporting sides were waterlogged upon inspection and it states that the weight limit is 700 lbs. seller told me to contact Amazon Amazon told me to contact the seller So I’m out around $100 including disposal of the 3 ottomans Sad situation that resulted in injury Do not buy !!! The look of the ottoman is nice. I had purchased the larger size for my son's dorm room because of the locking mechanism. The first was scratched and missing some of the finish so I returned it and they sent out a new one. Great! I appreciate that.
