Great product. Not an easy install because of MY wall situation. The video online demo shows the best case scenario. If your wall is like that and you do a lot of DYI. Go for it. Other wise hire a pro. Mine required moving speaker wires, an exterior outlet,cutting through stucco and chiseling out an exterior door frame to get it to fit. Probably the hardest possible install to do. It was brutal but I have done a LOT of DYI and I had no other choice on the XL size and install location. Took me 3 days 18 hours worth but it works well. Keeps out the -8 degree temp better than any other door on the market. ... show more

If you need a all weather door, this is the one to buy. Is pricey, but we had ordered one for $269.00 and was a piece of crap. The flaps on this one (we got the 2flap) are heavy duty and do not blow open if windy and also the magnetic strips are very strong and hold the flap where it should be. We have a lab and will be perfect. We bought the large door. Hope it does it’s job in our Montana winters. We will know shortly.     • Could be perfect but …
Pattern Name: Double Flap Black Wall Size: Large Flap (10" x 19")
Few things for new door installers 1) on the bottom of the door flaps is a plastic cap (lengthwise) that goes from side to side Remove that, and apply some clear caulk Reason: over time it gets loose The cap comes flying off and now you have magnets laying on the ground that dogs can accidental consume 2) do not bend the flaps too high up as it can come up the bracket on the corner (top left and right area) The way to remedy this is to ensure the tunnel is just high enough so the dogs can hop over However note- momentum form the dog flying through would make the flaps go higher and occasionally you have to snap the piece back in Imo - this is a fault in the product itself 3) use liquid styrofoam on the surrounding areas of the metal tunnel But mindful that too much it could squeeze the tunnel I found that this creates a solid tunnel where as without it, it’s very thin metal and quite frankly really cheap 4) this model has no way of replacing doors and tunnel Once it’s in, it’s in So just keep in mind for long term Again poor design in my opinion Good luck ... show more

Great door, easy to install when following directions. No air comes in when one flap is fully closed. With both closed you don't feel any coolness, expecting no heat come summer. In Spokane Washington, we go below zero in winter and above 100 degrees in summer. We have been down in the single digits and only have one door semi-closed at this point. When making the hole we had to keep in mind all our animal sizes. We have a standard poodle puppy, thus the big door. We also have a small poodle/terrier mix and two cats. One cat is going through it nicely, however, training our other one is becoming a little tricky. We've removed magnets, propped open the outer door and still she is timid of it. She has been using a smaller one so she gets the idea, we just think the large door is a bit intimidating for her. ... show more

We ran this dog door through the wall, next to our door. It was fairly easy to install with the directions and hole template provided. I had left my better snips at another location so the sizing of the pass through area was a little rough but I am not taking away any stars because of my stupidity. In fact, it demonstrates the quality and, what I hope to be, durabilty of the door. We have five large German Shepherd Dogs that are kind are a mix of brute, curious, and harbringer of chaos. They are handling the dog door with no problem and it is standing up to their use/abuse. I did order and extra door after installation because the dogs cannot see through the double flaps and bang into it when closed. Or they are idiots. I also installed this just before the recent big winter storm and it did not have any effect on the heat in the kennel area. ... show more

It looks high end and beautiful very sturdy and includes everything needed for the install. I was lucky that the thickness of my wall was 9.5” and exactly matched the provided sheet metal for the tunnel, otherwise you might need to cut it down to length
