The media could not be loaded. This door is an excellent product! Pretty easy to install through steel door with the correct tools. Door seems to be made well and is very sturdy. There is a nice cover that comes with it to cover the door when not in use. The door does make some noise when closing, but that is because the magnets seal back quickly and keep a tight closure on the door. I thought the noise would be a negative, but I found out that I like knowing when he enters and exits. Also, this door is much taller than most on the market with the same width...this is great for doors being put in a garage like mine with a step to give the dog extra room to jump through the door. My dog is an Australian Shepard and weighs 53 pounds and I got the large door. I would definitely recommend this product! I was skeptical to pay this much when others on the market are so much cheaper, but it is well worth the money. One of the best purchases I have made! ... show more

I ordered this pet door 15 months ago, and I am SO glad I did. I've bought five other pet doors in my years of having pets and if I ever need to buy another one I'll gladly spring the extra money for another Endura Door. I have two dogs and a cat who use this every day. (Yes, the cat can use it.) It keeps out a direct driving rain. A 40 mph wind doesn't even budge the flap. My escape artist German Shepherd/Doberman can't open solid door when I slide it in place. And while the flap certainly has a few surface scuffs after all this time, it is as solid as the day I installed it. Which was, by the way, the easiest installation of any door we've owned. Quality parts with tight tolerances and clear, easy-to-follow directions! What a stark contrast from previous pet doors! We were hesitant to pay the extra money for the Endura Door, but after having a frustrating experience with so many doors before we figured we'd give it a try. We were so glad we did. If you can dig a little deeper into your pockets, you will be glad too! (I paid full price for my product and I received no benefit for my feedback.) ... show more

Pretty impressed with the quality of the dog door. I mistakenly ordered the dog "door" instead of the dog thru the wall door, so I had to go the Endura's website and order the wall kit. Easy to find and quick shipping, although not cheap. Once I had the wall kit part and watched the videos on installing it and read thru the directions. My all-thread came with the barrel nuts already lock-tighted onto them. The foam gasket was already in place as well. So everything about the kit was pretty well explained between the video and the directions. I have to say though, in the video they show a young girl with probably less than average skills install this door kit through a wall with fake stucco on the outside of the wall over plywood. It's a decent representation of what needs to be done but in no way representative of what's entailed if you're actually cutting through a stucco exterior. My stucco was an inch thick. Pro tips - diamond tipped concrete blade on a 4" angle grinder cuts through it really well, but tape a plastic bag over the hole on the inside of the house so you don't coat everything with concrete dust inside. The included silicone is fine, but you may want caulking that matches your exterior for the outside of the trim pieces. Overall, great product and probably easy install for a thru-a-door install, but considerably more difficult through stucco walls. ... show more

    • Good door but noisy flap closure.

Fairly easy to install, didn't have any gaps and came with weather stripping to help seal the door cutout. Sturdy flap that seems to block out all the outside elements. The open screw holes on the dog door came with white plugs but they were too big and did not fit at all. I was unable to even hammer them in. It took my 25 - 35 lbs dogs 4 - 5 weeks to be able to push through the door on their own. The magnetic closure is very strong and makes a loud noise when the flap swing shuts. This was the main reason why my dogs did not want to use it. I temporarily removed the magnetic bar to reduce that noise and allow for the flap to be opened much easier while training my dogs to use the dog door. Removing that bar leaves a 1 - 2" open gap to the outside under the door flap so you don't want to leave this off. After they mastered the dog door I put the bar back on and they eventually warmed up to the loud clanging noise when the flap closes. ... show more

This was a replacement for an existing pet door for my 80 lb, 27" tall Irish Setter "puppy". That door would not stay sealed during windy conditions. And we have a LOT of wind! Based on my experience with the size of the original dog door, I chose to order the Large door, as it measured the same as the installed door. I have the step-over at 9" and he comes and goes without any problem. The door seals very well EXCEPT after he sticks his nose out to sniff the wind, and then pulls back in. There isn't enough inertia to allow the door to return to its sealed position and the magnets to engage. I have to walk to the door and manually reposition it so the magnets engage. When he goes bombing through like he usually does, it seals just fine. And once sealed, it holds in winds approaching 40 mph. So all in all, very pleased. Now for the bad part. When installing and trying the insert the machine screws to hold the 2 parts of the frame together, it is virtually impossible to to control the screw with a phillips-head screwdriver, align it with the outside frame, and then get it to start threading. I even used wire through 3 of the holes and still had a hard time getting the screw thread in the 4th hole. I finally went to my drill-set, got a magnetized attachment with a philips-head and a sleeve over it, and was finally able to direct the screw where it needed to go using the sleeve. I would STRONGLY RECOMMEND redesign to use an Allen-head screw that would allow a solid connection with the Allen-head wrench and easy re-alignment of the screw as you are trying to get it to thread. And supply an Allen-head wrench with the kit to make the process easier. Because of the installation problem, I would give this 4.5 stars if I could. But overall, I couldn't be happier with the design, materials, construction and function. ... show more
