My first question when looking at this journal was if there were 400 pages or 400 sheets (800 pages). This journal has 400 sheets! I was over the moon excited when I opened the package and saw the thickness of this journal. My previous journals have come from WMart and they had 326 sheets. Those lasted me just shy of two years. This one will be great for almost three years. The lines are also spaced at a college ruled distance. Super soft cover, elastic to hold the journal closed, two ribbon bookmarks. Worth every penny. I use this for Bible Journaling, so I use it every single day. As far as the bleeding, I have not wrote in it yet, but I use ball point pens, so I do not see bleeding as an issue. The color of the pages is offwhite to a very lite cream. The journal lays flat, but again, not really an issue since I hold it in my lap and journal in my bed before I go to sleep at night.
