This one handles the power and the bass, doesn’t fart out like the stock piece. Like the title says, I use it for a single guitar speaker in a 1x12. Sounds great actually. I think these sound more natural than any guitar speaker I've ever used. They always make the mids stand out in a fake way to me, some sound better than others. I have no clue how this speaker would sound mixed with other guitar specific speakers, but I do know that it's great being 400 watts and I can take it anywhere with me and even use a 100 watt jcm2000 through it. I've also used a 60 watt 6505+ combo that I turned into a head and a 100 watt katana head, all sound good and the speaker has no problem handling either one of them. ... show more

I put two of these to good use as replacements for Dhalquest DQ-10 woofers and replaced the high frequency drivers with Klipsch KC-25 Icon 5-1/4-Inch Center Speakers. The Klipsch set across the top with no issue. Eminence two way crossovers were used along with L-pads for volume balance. The result was outstanding. It does not have a composite cone. It does not have rubber suspension. It does not have a massive magnet. It also does not have a 200 dollar price tag. Bought this as a replacement for a blown driver in a Mackie thump 15. Direct fit, much better, heavier duty speaker than the original. I expect it to handle power better. Will replace the other driver with another.
