  • Perfect fit 1983 Honda Magna v45
Cheaper than used parts on ebay, fits right on, solid construction, appears identical to original part. Fully compatible - used the electrical component from this part with the lock component from the original to maintain my use of the original key - worked perfectly. Overall very satisfied.

  • works just fine on my old Honda, but the plastic broke on one key
This replacement switch works just fine on with my 1987 Honda CBR600f Hurricane. The connector plugged directly into the existing wiring harness without any modifications at all. It also looks identical to the connector from my 1983 GL650 (aka CX650). The only difference was the one of the six contacts was unused on the Emgo switch (for the "parking" setting on the tail light.) You can see this in the picture(s). The mounting holes matched perfectly; although the total size of the switch assembly is slightly different on the Emgo replacement, as you can see in the pictures. This wasn't an issue for me. The mechanical steering lock also works. I installed it a couple months ago, but I'm still rebuilding the bike so I haven't actually used it much yet. That said,.. the plastic around one of the keys completely shattered last night. It wasn't attached to anything or stressed in any way. It just broke and fell off when I turned on the ignition. It sill functions, but I'll need to drill a hole in the remaining metal part for a key ring. And I'm clearly taking off one star for that. And now I don't trust the other one to stay attached to a key ring without breaking while I'm driving down the road. :- / Anyway; it's still good for the price and I would buy it again. ... show more

  • Fits a 1983 cb1000 custom perfectly, just have to move one terminal over.
Replaced a 1983 cb1000 Honda motorcycle ignition switch. Fits perfectly only had to move one terminal over same plug.

  • Plug & play! Nighthawk 700s
Works perfect so far. ( Two weeks since install) I was doing lot of jiggling and still the Bird would cut out & die. Not good. This ignition works perfectly. Fairly easy to do the job. 2 bolts and a plug awkward angle. Don't let the difference in plug wiring throw you, it doesn't have the annoying "PARK" setting so no brake light! Just plug 🔌 it in and go Nighthawking! Be safe out there. 👋 1984 CB700s ... show more

  • Perfect replacement for 84-86 Honda Nighthawk S!
This EMGO 40-15840 ignition switch looks and performs exactly as if it were produced by the OEM. If you have a 1984-1986 Honda CB700SC Nighthawk "S", this is the perfect replacement. It is plug and play. No cutting or splicing of wires is necessary. See pictures as proof. The only "difference" that I found was there is no yellow/black ground wire in the new harness, (switch is grounded to bike through forks anyway) and there is an additional wire (blue/orange) in the new harness that my bike did not require. The wires that are important are all in the correct position relative to the factory connector. The wire harness is also long enough for any application. I measured it at 20 inches long. I am very pleased with this product! Used ignition switches for this bike are at a premium elsewhere. This EMGO ignition is a tremendous value for someone with a broken switch or lost keys. ... show more

  • This will fit an 85 shadow 500 if you splice the factory wiring harness
Cut the wiring harness and wire in the factory wiring harness. All the wires colors match but you will have a yellow and black wire extra on the factory wiring harness side. Attach it into the red with black stripe connection.

  • Fits more bikes than is listed
Switch is a direct replacement for a 1984 Honda V65 Magna. Bolts right in and the plug is the same. Only thing is the tail light doesn't come on if you lock the steering in the "parking" position. Who does that anyway? Great deal for sure!
