Description

The T set is our direct replacement system for Telecasters™ that will make any player wonder why they didn’t make the switch before now. What distinguishes the EMG T set is the pure beefy twang that you get from the bridge pickup (RT), and the complimentary clarity and warmth of the neck pickup (FT), all with ultra quiet operation. To get this great range of tonal characteristics, we designed both these pickups with Alnico magnets and custom engineered coil size and windings which give a fullness and broader bandwidth that Tele pickups never had before. All of this combines to give you a tone that is incredibly well balanced; rich and sweet on the bottom, and a top end that shimmers with just enough bite. Whether you want that hard-edged blues rock Tele™ sound, or beautiful vintage clean Tele™ twang, you can get it all with this set.

  • Turned My Squire Tele into a Rock Power House!
Easy enough to install, My tele the neck pick up was a super snug fit. The only thing i was prepared for was needing new tone and volume knobs. Hard to find some that fit over the shafts. But the tone makes up for it for me!

  • A nice noiseless set of pickups
These worked quite well in the Telecaster I put them in. No complaints really but I did not find them especially exciting either, some lack of distinct character maybe, but they performed reliably. Jon I.

  • check out my T set!!!!!
THese puppies sound sick!!!!! Buy a mexican Tele. Throw the pickups away. Pop in some T sets. Easy install. I did have to route out the pick guard with my dremmel tool to accomodate the neck pickup. I was pretty pissed, but then I strung it up and played it......lets just say - I got over it. Dont sound like a dork - These pickups are like taking a wet blanket off of your amp. • Tone - Great, Easy Install...not so much
From a tone standpoint, the EMG T-System delivers. I put them in an American Standard Tele and the tone is massive. The country twang is in tact, but I use my Tele for alt and punk and the amount of bite these deliver is fantastic. EMG's have a reputation for being harsh and putting them in a bright guitar could potentially get pretty nasty, however, dialing them in is pretty easy and they cut through in a live setting better than the stock pups ever did. Great, round, big tone. And they are dead silent on my clean channel. N3 pickups have nothing on these. No complaints. However, there are a lot of pickups that sound great. Part of the reason I went for these pups was reputation and ease of install. The pups did not arrive with a fully assembled face plate to just drop in. They the pickup selector, tone and volume were loose and had to be mounted on my plate. No big deal, except they didn't fit, so I had to bore out the cavity where they sat. Again, no big deal, only about a 15 minute job. But the tone and volume pegs are uneven and different widths. One of my factory tone knobs fit, the other does not. The tone pot is also exceptionally sticky. Because these are solderless, I can't use the old tone and volume pots without re=wiring the hole thing. That IS NOT what I was expecting and had I known it would be that difficult and the tone and volume pots so poor in quality, I would have passed. The tone is really good, much better than stock pickups, but I will be taking my guitar in to have the tone and volume pots fixed and with that cost, I could have just purchased a standard set and had them installed without carving into the body of my Tele. ... show more

  • I would buy it again.
Put it on a Squire thinline Telecaster. Easy to install. I just had to reread the instructions on the connectors at the volume knobs. Makes my inexpensive guitar sound great. Fun to play, very clean sound.

  • Amazing sound...
Ballsy telecaster sound... It has single-coil characteristics while supplying an output which is comparable to that of a Les Paul... Incredible. I find it to them to deliver very little sustain though... Great frequency range accross all three positions!

  • EMG logos do not match the photo shown
Great pickups. Nothing wrong with them, but the I needed the EMG vintage logos for a restoration project...as shown in the photo. I received the new EMG logo. I had to return the PU set.
