I'll get to it. Pros: 1) Easy to transport. 2) Fan, light, and dimmer switch work well. 3) Long reach. 4) Price is nice. Cons: (Here we go) 1) Because it's lightweight and cheap, it's easy to tip over, so you definitely need the sandbag. Which brings me to #2. 2) It does come with a "sandbag"... that is, a bag that holds sand...but no sand. This is mentioned if you read the description, but the word "sandbag" for some reason automatically makes you feel like it will come with the sand. Nope. 3) Those cheap-ass flimsy clamp mounts are now broken, and not just one, but two! So now I have no way of tightening my adjustments. They can't even take regular tension for tightening, soon as you screw them, they get weaker and weaker until they break. 4) It's cool that color temp. knob and switch are located on the main head of the light....until you have to use a ladder or step stool every time you need to adjust it. They must've forgot that with it way up near the ceiling, this would happen, or they didn't care. 5) That stupid pivot connector used to rotate the boom always feel like you're one crank away from it breaking also! And it doesn't even stay in place that well. Cheap. My advice, just go ahead, spend a few more bucks and invest in stuff made out of metal (instead of cheap plastic). ... show more

    • Power saving LED, dimmable. Great price.
I purchased this softlight along with three side standing softlights from another manufacturer. I am impressed with the design of this soflight. I was worried that it would tip over or not provide enough light. There are many fluorecent bulb powered softlights available but the power usage and heat generation drew me away from them. After i set it up and turned it on i knew i made the correct choice. The turn style dimmer is very smooth and offers a choice to save even more energy. The built-in LED array means no more bulbs to change, break or fade and flicker over time. I was able to set this kit to an incredible 7 foot height which was perfect so i could keep it out of my cameras view. I was able to eliminate harsh shadows and increase the amount of light in my photoshoot setup thanks to this soflight. The choice of 2700k or 5400k color options are a great bonus. I decided to use a combination of 2700k and 5500k in my four softlight fixture setup. There are no instructions provided yet it is very straightforward to setup with some common sense and knowledge about lighting setups. ... show more

    • Where are the weights?
3 stars because the description doesn’t mention that it doesn’t come with the weights needed to hold the light up. Now I’ve gotta order those and wait for them to come, Soo I’m annoyed. Kinda annoying to put together and the instructions aren’t a great help. Figured it out but it took me about 45 mins. Seems to be well built and I like that it has soft and bright light switch. Haven’t recorded with it yet. Will try to update when I do. ... show more

    • This is my very first bad review for a product in amazon.
At first, I thought this light is the best LED light with boom arm. I've been looking for that LED + boom arm combo and couldn't find one. I purchased this Emart light and was so happy. I unboxed it and first thing I noticed is how hard it is to assemble, not the mount, but the metal hinges that you have to attach to the light. After the assembly, I turned on the light and noticed that it didn't turn on. I decided that maybe there's something wrong with my extension so I used the wall socket. Nice! It worked! HOWEVER, after 15+ minutes of usage, I noticed that the light all of a sudden became REALLY bright. So I tried lowering it down, but the knob control at the back somehow is not working at all. I still gave this product a chance a few more days and same thing happens. After the 5th day, instead of the light turning super bright after a few minutes of usage, the light actually turns off by itself.. and won't turn on at all. ... show more

    • Portability of soft box not happy with
The directions were really tiny I had to use magnification to view it. I was expecting this to be more portable like my other soft box this has metal slats that have to be taken in and out to be portable where as my other that I purchased from a different company is more like a umbrella style where I can inflate and deflated and put in a box right away to be portable fast and easy it doesn't have to be put together. I like the light and the arm other then that I wasn't really thrilled at how the soft box was put together. It appears I will have to leave this one up all the time its too complicated to take down and put up. When I'm out at a photoshoot I don't have time to be putting things together I need portability. ... show more

    • Decent product for the money
If I could summarize this product: 1. The instructions are HORRID. I got online and found a video that somewhat helped. I an also horrible with directions and was able to put together in 30 min or less. (including watching the video) 2. Put together gently - don't force anything. 3. Didn't come with "sand" for the sandbags - I just used a couple canned beverages and that worked fine. 4. Light and stand work great for my macro/indoor photography. I think you'll be pleased with this stand/light. I'm sure there are better/heavier ones - but I really needed the boom stand to position the light to be able to sit over items, and this does the trick! I also didn't want to spend a ton of money while I'm just playing around for now. ... show more

    • Good overhead light BUT needs assembly instructions.
GOOD OVERHEAD LIGHTING FOR PHOTOGRAPHY & VIDEOS- but I don't understand why assembly instructions and/or an assembly video is not included with this product when it could be so easily done, costs nothing, and would greatly benefit the consumer. I own several lightboxes, thus was familiar, but as I had not assembled one in several years it took far longer than it should have. For a novice, I expect it could be a frustrating ordeal involving a lot of colorful language. ... show more

    • Product would be totally perfect if controls weren't awkwardly located on lamp housing.
Light controls are on the light fixture, not the transformer, so once the boom is extended the dimming and color temp controls are difficult or impossible to reach. But a little planning can avert this problem. Otherwise the product is exactly as advertised, easily assembled and a miracle of value at the price. ... show more
