I ordered two Prometheus XVI GS RTX 4080 Laptops, one for me and another for my brother-in-law. I had a couple of questions about why my C and D Drives (I added another M.2 Drive) had BitLocker and both drives were locked. The other question was about the slow boot up. Called Eluktronics and Keith answered within 30 seconds. Yes, no menu BS! He told me that as soon as you log into your Microsoft Account, your drives are automatically BitLocked. He is correct because as soon as I logged into my Microsoft Office Account that is when it happened. When I installed the second M.2 drive and formatted it, it was NOT locked. Now it is! I would need the BitLocker Code to view the drive. Only in Windows 11 this happens! Keith had me go into the BIOS and change a setting and my boot up time went from 30 seconds to 5 seconds! The laptop runs cool even without hooking up the external water cooler. I wanted a laptop that I could render and edit 4K footage and with 64GB DDR5 memory, Intel i9 Processor & a Nvidia RTX 4080 12 GB video card, this does the trick! Also it has a 2.5Gig Ethernet Port & I have straight fiber coming into my house. I edit with Sony Vegas Pro and this laptop handles my 4k Footage without any hitches. I can't be more happy with my Prometheus & plus their customer service is "OLD SCHOOL". They answer the phone!!!!! BTW: I think this is my 2nd review I have ever written on Amazon and I order everyday! ... show more

After an initial frustration due to bad RAM causing the laptop to lock up, once I called support they were quick and responsive and provided an option to let me try new RAM vs. having to ship the laptop in. This solved the issue and I am now very happy with the machine. The only reason for not leaving a five star review is for not screening the bad lot they got from the supplier and leaving it to the customer to find the errant sticks after they knew of the issue. Picked up this laptop during Cyber Monday. I originally was not planning on purchasing a new laptop this year after getting hands on with a variety of others including Razer, Lenovo, MSI, and ASUS. However, once this laptop checked off all my boxes so I ended up pulling the trigger. This thing is amazing for gaming and workflow and the 240hz screen has made me want to make the switch to a similar refresh rate for my desktop after having experienced it. The battery life leaves something to be desired but I expected that going in, and you can always upgrade to a bigger battery through Eluktronics if you so desire. The aesthetics of this thing also blows away all the other manufacturers, no tacky "gamer" look to this laptop and you'll get people asking what it is when you bring it out in public. If you can get this for around $2000, it is a great value for the price. I thought the liquid cooling accessory was goofy at first, but it is actually very easy to set up, is quiet, and keeps the laptop very cool. I have noticed no build quality issues with the laptop so far, except for one very stuck screw. I had a very hard time opening it up to get a second m.2 storage in there. The 2560x1600 screen is very very nice. The keyboard feels fine to me, but if you are picky, you might consider the other Eluktronics model line with the mechanical keyboard. It is MUCH more expensive, though. If you are just looking for performance components in a no-nonsense case, this laptop is a great choice. ... show more

I reveived my Prometheus G2 and upon start up it would not stay on unless connected to power. Checked all drivers, windows updates and all the settings. I couldnt figure out why it wouldnt stay on. Ended up calling tech support and Mike answered. I explained the situation and he had a hunch that the battery wasnt plugged in internally. Sure enough after opening it up it was unplugged and taped down still. Plugged it back in and it fired right up. Will return to review after more time with the laptop! ... show more

It’s a great laptop, with very fast performance for a reasonable price. Unfortunately within a week of arrival my laptop started repeatedly hard crashing while playing various video games. I sent my laptop in for repair and got it back within a week. It’s been working fine since then.

...didn't last 5 yrs! Constant issues and finally motherboard fried for no reason, and I have owned several PC's over the past 35 yrs. Look this issue up on the net, this is common. These laptops are trash and overhyped, not to mention overpriced!

So I have had the Laptop for 2 days. So I will update this in the future. So far it's excellent. Water cooling works well , runs DCS with the Reverb G2 well. I have it set So when watercooled it just makes the fans run quieter, you could have a water cooled profile and up the Chip and GPU settings but framerates are good so I haven't bothered. With the water off Framerates are still good just the fans are louder. I did have to call Eluktronics twice both time I had a person on the phone inside of 30 seconds no hanging on hold or multiple levels of AI to get through so that was fantastic. Staff were great and it was simple stuff nothing wrong. I am very impressed so far. I had to send back my Alienware Laptop as it wouldn't run the Reverb. I would happily buy this again . It's significantly lighter than the Alienware and way faster. I am getting 113 fps on Cyberpunk with Ray tracing ultra settings. 😎 ... show more
