    • The only sunscreen that doesn’t make me break out
The media could not be loaded. I’m in the sun every day, so I’ve tried a lot of sunscreens. After using every single one, and sometimes just after sun exposure with no SPF on, my skin has broken out. Not a huge breakout, but at least one or two pimples will appear right afterwards somewhere on my face. This is the only sunscreen that protects my skin and has never caused a breakout. I’m so happy to have discovered it because it’s no fun to have to choose between having fun outside and having clear skin. The texture is light and while it’s white out of the bottle, it absorbs into the skin quickly. It also doesn’t seem to contain any fragrance. The only smell is what I believe is just the natural smell of the sunscreen itself. I can honestly say this sunscreen has improved my life and that’s pretty big claim for something you rub on your face. ... show more

I don’t like that the product I received is 1.7 ounces yet it’s always been 2.O ounces and the current picture still has the Elta MD Restore SPF 40 sunscreen size as 2 ounces. Charging the same amount for lesser product yet depicting it as regular size is just wrong. It’s now even more expensive per ounce. ... show more

I have tried a zillion sunscreens from as many brands. This works the best for me. It has an elegant formulation - applies smoothly, is non-drying, and does not have a white cast. I don’t even need to wear a foundation over it, it imparts a beautiful, smooth finish on my skin. I do apply a moisturizer first, let it set for a few minutes, then apply the sunscreen. I have been using this sunscreen for years and was so happy to find an Elta MD shop on Amazon. This is my favorite sunscreen for every day with or without makeup. The best thing about this sunscreen is the hydration and sheer texture. Along with the many other skincare benefits of this formula, the squalane really shines as if truly nourishes the skin.     • Nice moisturizing formula but leaves a light blue-gray cast on my very fair skin
There's a lot to like about the EltaMD Restore Untinted: *The formula is creamy and easy to spread. *It's the most moisturizing of the EltaMD mineral sunscreens I've tried (much better than Elements and Physical). *It's dewy but not too shiny after dry down. *No fragrance. *It works well under makeup - no pilling. A few things I don't like: *It leaves a blue-gray cast on my very fair, very dry skin even with lots of rubbing and blending and it affects the color/tone of the foundation I applied over it. Again, my skin is very fair, darker foundations may better cover the cast. *After a few hours it settles into some fine lines and accentuates them (even under primer and a weightless foundation) - it's not bad, it's just average likely due to the thicker formula. *The pump is not great - takes a while to get enough product out. Summary: It's the most moisturizing sunscreen I've found so far this summer, but it leaves a stranger cast than most I've tried and the wear under makeup is just okay for mature skin. ... show more

I have used, I would say, probably every physical sunscreen there is out there being EXTREMELY pale and intolerant to both chemical sunscreens and UV light so I have to wear sunscreen all year round, everywhere apart from in my house (because I have the curtains shut). I also have really sensitive skin that has got worse as I've gotten older which doesn't help and has limited what I can use further, as has the use of nano titaniun/zinc as people don't want the white caste which is actually what reflects the sun off your skin with the titanium dioxide sunscreens and so protects it from the UV rays! That being said, it has no become really hard to find a sunscreen without nano particles or chemicals that actually works without also making you look like you've dipped your face in a chip pan! This one does! It doesn't smell nasty, doesnt oxidize to make you look orange and has good lasting power. Also, for those of you who don't want to look like a goth/vampire, it doesn't do that bad on the "white makeup" look if you rub it in be done use too much. ... show more
