I bought this for an emergency in case lights shut off. I have my generator. I’ve hooked it up to. It turns on works really good. It does take a while to cool down after you disconnect it but other than that, it heats up excellent

That's what she said. What she also said was that this little 2 burner unit is perfect for cooking ANYTHING. We are a family of two, but i still cook meals almost every night. I found that boiling water took relatively the same time as when we had a stove top. Other reviews said it took a long time to boil water, but that was not the case for us. Heating is even on both burners and the controls are very easy to use. This 2 burner unit has allowed us to save the immediate expense of replacing our broken oven.     • Don't use expensive cookware on it!

Works great bought it in Aug 2022 and still works fine. Takes awhile to heat up whatever your cooking but works well enough. Easy to clean and put a away. Don't use your favorite cookware on it thou since it heats it from the bottom first and will warp the bottom of it. Unlike a flame that heats everything evenly it heats up the bottom first causing the metal to expand and since the sides of it are still cool the metal overtime will start buckle inward or outward since it has no where to go. ... show more

It works great for small jobs. We spend a lot of time downstairs where our TV and easy chairs are, but our main kitchen is upstairs. This allows us to cook small things downstairs so we don't have to go upstairs. It operates like any electric appliance that continues to heat even when you turn it off, so if you don't have a place to put your cooking appliance when you take it off the hot plate, and you just turn off the power, remember to turn it off several minutes before the cooking time ends as it continues to heat. ... show more

The burner is very well made, and easy to use. It's very easy to keep clean, just wash with a sponge. It's slow to heat up, but I believe that's a safety feature. The controls are simple to use. I'm very happy with the cast iron burner. It's a lot sturdier than the coil hot plate I had previously.

It's a nice lightweight hot plate, however, the knob is a little flimsy. As the temperature is heating, the red indicator light turns on and then turns off a couple of minutes later. This is a good burner which I've used 2-3 times now. I like the cast iron for even heating and it doesn't take too long to heat up. It maintains a steady temperature. I don't like the surface of the burner. The cast iron top is ridged, not smooth and it seems to have some type of coating, maybe teflon? I don't care for it. I would like to just have a plain smooth cast iron surface. A smooth surface would be easier to clean. But most of the cast iron burners on Amazon seem to have this. I didn't see anywhere in the description about a coating, but if there is, please tell me. The cord is very short, only 28" and doesn't reach in my situation. There's even a statement in its defense in the instruction manual, "Short Cord Purpose: A short power cord is provided to reduce the risk of personal injury resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a long cord. Longer power-supply cords or extension cords may be used if care is exercised in their use." It is probably suitable for most situations where the burner is on a countertop in a kitchen with receptacles on the backsplash only a foot or two away. But if that is not the case then an extension cord rated for the 1000W burner would be required. ... show more
