I thought it would splurge a little and get the four pack of these balls at Christmas time. They seem to work fine so far… Actually the only one that has cracked on me as an old Franklin that I had in my bag- playing in like 45° weather. It would be good if there was just a standard set for Pickleball with the type of holes and stuff. Some have variable holes and some have uniform size. There should be a standard and the rest should be thrown out. Same with the raquets- I’m not sure if there is a standard on the bracket size and thickness. I’m relatively new to the game but some people are really insane about it… Unless I’m playing on a league or for money I really don’t care that much but it’s good to have a standard so that it’s a level purchasing and playing field. ... show more

I play pickleball outdoors during the winter when temperatures are in the 30's and the harder, faster balls that I use all summer break fairly often after not much use. I have played many games with just 2 of these balls so far and they have still not cracked. Even if they cost a little more they are worth it if they don't need to be replaced. ... show more

The balls do seem more durable than the Franklin x40’s. I like that they do play with pop versus the softer onix balls. The pop and durability last as long as the temperatures are sub 90. However once the temperatures get above that, these balls tend to soften and bounce funny. This is particularly noticeable when temperatures are over 100. I would continue using x40’s for super hot days since the harder plastic holds shape. I like these balls for more pleasant days and colder temperatures. We have a beautiful weather in NM. We play pickleball outside but in winter balls crack so fast in the 30, 40, 50. This kind of ball, does not crack fast in the winter like Franklin or Dural fast.

We live in the Pacific Northwest and temperatures in the fall and spring can get cold. We still play, of course, but our other balls were cracking and splitting when we played in the colder temps. We bought these and they did fine in the colder temps. I would recommend.
