You need to use a little strength to put the pieces together but I think that's on purpose. The tight fit is perfect and sturdy. If you have a rubber mallet than you're a pro and this will be easy, if not just use a regular hammer but put something soft like a layer of cardboard between the hammer and the wood otherwise you will damage the wood finish. I already want to buy another set...it's only a matter of time... ... show more

I was expecting a difficult assembly. But all the parts were well machined and went together smoothly with a rubber hammer. Also, I did not screw any parts together until all parts were aligned.

The wood seemed to be of good quality (versus other products off Amazon) and the chair was stable (not to mention the 24" we needed versus the omnipresent 29" height). The set up required work. On stripped screw was probably my fault, but I did have to apply some serious force to bend the legs to slip into the holes on the seat. I also had fun with a deadblow mallet to seat the pins down flush. So while you get good quality, "some assembly required" requires a little patience and maybe more force than someone might be comfortable having to apply. ... show more
