Description

ZXA1-Sub 12" Powered Subwoofer. Extending the ZXA1’s size-defying performance and sleek styling into the low-end realm, the ZXA1-Sub packs a 700-watt punch into a small, low-profile wood enclosure. Match this powered subwoofer with a pair of ZXA1s or other smaller powered speakers and hear just how big a small rig can sound. Weighing in at a mere 46 lb. , the ZXA1-Sub won’t break your back during transport and it easily fits into tight spaces. Whether you’re a DJ looking to add a deep thump to your set or you’re a live performer wanting to give the highs and midst some breathing room, this subwoofer has you covered. Take the stereo XLR outputs from your mixer and plug into the stereo XLR inputs of the ZXA1-Sub, then patch the stereo outputs into a pair of powered main speakers. The ZXA1-Sub is equipped with a 100Hz high-pass filter that keeps everything below 100Hz in the sub so your main speakers' power amp doesn't have to process the low end. Low frequencies are the most taxing aspect of any signal for a power amp, so not only will you get a perfectly tuned low end, your main speakers will operate with much greater efficiency.

  • Good little sub. Definitely helps round out the bottom.
Style: ZXA1SUB Configuration: Base
I have 2 of these puppies & they’re worth every penny for small to mid sized gigs. Pair one or two with the Evolve 50s & you get that extra little bottom you need. Love’m!

  • Damaged subwoofer
Style: ZXA1SUB Configuration: Base
I bought 2 of these subwoofers, they work great and as expected. Only issue was i received one damaged. One of the corners of the subwoofer had a pretty large dent in the wood. Packaging was good but the subwoofer itself was damaged. It still works though… so far

  • Best Mate for the Bose L1 Model II
Style: ZXA1SUB Configuration: Base
I hesistated about this purchase but after much browsing of the reviews for this mean punch box I pulled the trigger. My decision was actually very much swayed by my call to EV's tech support. The guy I spoke to seemed very very knwoledgeable and took time to go over specs and compatibility issues. Anyway, I was very much impressed by the build and looks of the Sub when I received it. Funny enough it is about the same weight as my Bose B2 - 46 pounds. I hooked up the Bose L1 and connected the EV to the L1 Bass Line out connection. Pheeeeew!! Amazing. Don't get me wrong I had the same feeling when I purchased the B2s but on connecting the EV to the L1 I initially thought the B2 was disconnected. I had to put my ears next to it to hear it. The EV killed it, no match. The deep bass from the EV is nothing but amazing. It would be hard to find a better compliment to the L1 out there. I will definitely be purchasing another one for my second L1 setup. By the way you can run a secnd Bass line out from a second L1 power stand to the second Line input connection on the EV if you don't want to spend for a second ZXA1. This thing certainly ROCKS!!!. ... show more

  • so read the revievs on this bad boy and decided to give it a try
Style: ZXA1SUB Configuration: Base
This little 12 inch speaker is No Joke. I'm a DJ who specializes in Reggae music and if you know anything about Reggae, it's all about the BASS!!! I'm used to 18inch Scoops and Earthquakes, so needless to say I was very, very skeptical of this sub, but being solo now, there is no way I could carry around those other speakers, so read the revievs on this bad boy and decided to give it a try. Boy an I glad I did.. Did a baby shower last weekend for about 100 people with this sub and 2 harbinger tops and the sound was Sweeeeeeet!!! Didn't even have it half way up, not too mention the Bass booster switch on the back. Haven't needed to try that as yet, as i've been very pleased with the sound. This is perfect for me. lightweight, easily fits in my sedan and packs a hell of a punch. Couldn't ask for anything more. A second one will definitely be in my near future. Not sure about stacking them however. I like my Bass on the ground, so will probably do side by side!!! Great Speaker. ... show more

  • Manufacturer Packing Problem
Loved the first one so I bought a second. I haven't ops checked it yet so I'll get back to you on that. What does bother me is the packaging of the product. While it's evident EV takes great pains to ensure their product survives all shipping hazards, I was rather put off when I unpacked this product. One of the three desiccant sacks had ruptured spilling its contents making it difficult to remove the sub from the box and plastic inner wrapper. The desiccant pellets spilled everywhere. And while this was messy, the more troubling mess was the ground/pulverized desiccant material covering the sub case and grill which proved to be quite difficult (to near impossible) to clean. I had to dig out pellets form the grill and other recesses. And the powder still makes the case to look well-worn and gives the impression of being considerably used and slightly mishandled. I own many EV products and have been very pleased with every piece. But I think a better QA inspection in the packing phase could help to prevent repeats of this nature. ... show more
