We purchased a house with a 40 x 60 shop that also has (weirdly enough) a full man cave/dog house set up. A bathroom (including a shower), a washer and dryer, etc. The existing old school hot water heater leaked BADLY so we got this to replace it. Please know, this isn't a hot water heater we would install in our home. There isn't a high enough rate of flow and it requires pretty hard-core wire. It's not an even swap for a standard household water heater. That being said...it wasn't hard to install and it works SO well for the shop! ... show more

    • Energy efficient & Space Efficient
Was hesitant to make the move to a tankless heater but I’m glad that I did, seeing the savings on our power bill already. Install was fairly straight forward, I did opt for an electrician to perform the electrical hookup since it involved modifying our breaker panel and running new heavy gauge wire to meet the power requirements of this device. Zero problems so far and we’ve had unlimited hot water even with full demand from all our household appliances and fixtures. Savings on our power bill has been around $20-25 per month, device should pay for itself within 12-15 months : ) ... show more

    • Stylish Unit
I am a complete convert to tankless. They really save me a lot of money on power bills and also take up less space. The power savings would likely be less for a busy household that is using the hot water as it comes anyway. This unit is similar to my others and at 27kW takes 3 8 AWG wires. These are pretty standardized for specific kW ratings, but be sure the wiring matches if you are trading out a unit. I love not having to haul out a big old water heater when that time comes, too. This is a stylish heater that will look nice if you need to put it in a visible location. That is a good idea because these Asian targeted brands sometimes require touching the power button after a power failure to turn them back on. American brands, like Rheem, turn back on automatically after a power failure. I've had good success with both. I think this is a really nice water heater and worth considering with my experience so far. I will update this review if it starts having issues any time soon. ... show more

    • Not meant for a lot of flow
I believe this is really only meant for smaller areas like a shop or your greenhouse. It's not going to heat up a whole house for sure. With that said it will give you hot water for a sink to wash your hands and that can be really helpful when working in your greenhouse.
