I actually have never used one of these before... TECHNICALY. I HAVE used an airbrush before and was surprised by the similarities in construction. Once I had figured that out it made using this that much easier. Researching how to mix water-based paints such as latex interior or exterior paints uses a 1:3 mix that you then experiment with based on the actual paint's density. That's where the little bell-shaped cup with the opening comes in. The amount of time it takes to drain determines how likely your spray painting will work. There are online video tutorials about how to do this. The sprayer is reasonably powerful, with the trigger determining just how much thrust and flow happens. With a bit of experimentation, I was able to get a good steady controlled flow on my test painting of a piece of plywood (the photos are from before I tested the unit as I wanted it to be clean for these images). Because the paint can be gradually layered it made the drying time faster than I'm used to as the thickness of the paint layer is thinner than brush painting, so I was happy with that. And clean-up, while never a fun prospect, was actually not too bad. The unit disassembles easily, and the included brush and small cleaning pin (for cleaning the nozzle holes) make the job much easier. Just DON'T wait too long after painting to clean the unit or you'll find your workload tripled. All told I'm really happy with this and look forward to tackling some larger projects such as repainting the garage and the porch. Up until now that has been a tedious hand-done affair. . Top quality for it's class of sprayers in my opinion. AC powered. BIG reservoir tank. Consistent, reliable AC powered. Battery sprayers are great for getting spots way up a ladder. However, when it comes to a larger job, it's time to be wired up to the grid with a unit like this sprayer. This set makes the sprayer ready to go out of the box. This is a large paint sprayer. It is easy to assemble and use. It has a large container to hold paint and multiple nozzles to spay for what you want to paint. It is pretty quiet and sprays perfectly.
