I purchased the ReAspire Fat-26 to replace a 26x4 Fat Tire non-EBike from that I have been riding for 7 years. I have always loved the fat tire bike and ReAspire looked almost identical to my previous bike so it was a great upgrade! 500+ Miles Ridden Review! Weight: This bike is no doubt heavy weighing about 75 pounds. Even though it’s heavy the bike rides and handles incredibly well off and on road. You will quickly get use to the weight and realize how comfortable it is to ride a solid bike. Power: yep this is a 750w Hub Drive Motor and it has pedal assist and a thumb throttle so you can cruise with little or no effort. In most EBike shops you’ll find 500w motors as the max, but with a much lighter bike. The 750w motor on this bike is ample due to its weight. Comparing a lighter weight bike with a 500w motor to this one with a 750w motor is about the same “feeling”. This bike is easy to ride in all gears with electric power. Without electric power, the bike is heavy and find myself pedaling in 5th gear going about 10 mph. It has 5 speed levels. Speed Levels are for pedal assist. Level 0 - No motor - this power setting you will definitely feel the weight of the bike. You do have a Shimano 7 speed shifter for manual pedaling. Level 1 - I use this setting when I want to get some pedaling in and also go far. It seems like the best power setting for overall cruising and battery life. I was able to get to 19mph with Level 1 and light pedaling. Level 2 through 5 - Increases pedaling power with each increase up to the max. Electronic Controls / Display: I love the fact ReAspire uses one of the better LCD color displays. It looks like an android phone with easy to read and use interface. The switches control all of your on / off, power level and front lights. There is also a thumb throttle that is pressure sensitive. You can give a little power or all power with just your thumb. (another reviewer says it’s on or off with the power but I found the throttle more like an actual throttle). Frame: This bike is built like a tank. It is thick and solid and very durable. This frame also folds which is super useful to transport the bike in a small car like a hatchback or SUV. I am also happy the bike ships with a rear rack that is very durable. I was able to mount my rear bag easily. Brakes: these hydraulic brakes are high quality. I had to make a sudden stop and had no problem. Initially my front brake was rubbing. This is caused by the front wheel not being installed when it arrives. I believe my brake caliper needed to be remounted (see my support story below). When you apply the brakes a signal is also sent to the motor to stop producing power as a safety. Manual 7 Speed Gear Shift: this Shimano Thumb Shifter is really good. It has no problem switching gears. Lighting: The front light is pretty good. It is not the best for you to see, but more for others to see you. The front light is powered by the EBike Battery the motor uses. The rear light is battery powered from 2 AAA batteries. I had to take mine apart to install the batteries correctly because one was backwards (for shipping maybe?). Riding: I mean it’s a fat tire mountain, beach, trail or even street bike! It’s probably the closet feeling you’ll get to a motorcycle in a bicycle due to its size and weight. It’s so fun when you are just cruising with the motor on. I found myself exploring places I normally wouldn’t have the energy to because now I can preserve my energy. On my 2nd ride I went 12 miles to the next town over and back home racking up about 30 miles in one battery charge while using motor around 70% of the time. Suspension: This is the first bike I had with hydraulic adjustable suspension. My previous fat tire didn’t have this. I rode off of a curb and felt the suspension at work. It was definitely softer and “squishy” feeling. I will get use to this new luxury! I’m use to feeling everything but this bike makes it so smooth. Mechanical Components: - the brake rotors are quality - The wheels are good quality maybe need a proper true alignment from a bike shop - my front wheel was hopping and wobbling and attempted to get it true but was a bad wheel. Seller shipped a new wheel quickly - The tires seem good but soft - I switched mine out with some street tires with puncture liners for long rides - Pedals are excellent quality - Crank great quality - Chain and rear freewheel are all good quality and work flawlessly out of the box - Rear derailleur is solid and shifts easily Road Noise: Fat tires are known for road noise especially at higher speeds. You’ll definitely hear the low growl of these “knobby” tires on the pavement. I also experienced some intermittent noise from the front end somewhere. I found that by taking the reflectors off the wheels the bike rides quiet. At certain speeds these type of reflectors make a buzz or rattle sounds. Instead of using reflectors I bought some reflective rim tape which looks really cool and is better in my opinion. Shipping: My bike arrived in 1 week from California to Florida. I was happy how fast they shipped it and it came a week earlier than the estimated arrival. It came in 1 large box by FedEx Ground. Assembly: I watched the ReAspire assembly video on the product listing at Amazon. It was really easy. Put handle bars on, put front wheel, fender and front light on then your pedals. I had issues getting the light and fender to mount like the video demonstrated. I read the instructions and it says to mount the light on the front side of the fork and the fender on the back side then run the bolt through. That method worked best for me. Upgrading: I like flat handgrips and a softer seat. I found the handlebars to be standard size and picked up some flat hand grips on Amazon. I had to move my shifter controls and brake handles inward a little as the new handgrips are slightly wider. I added a stem extension to make my handlebars higher up so I don’t lean forward as much. I also added an endcap mirror. The seat was a little tricky because the mount on the ReAspire seat post is welded together. I had to take some components off of the replacement seat’s mounting and I was able to use the ReAspire seat post with it. I also bought a bag that mounts on the frame and has a phone holder. My rear bag is the same bag I had on my old Fat Tire. It easy attached to the rear rack. I also want a basket on front but I’m evaluating that right now. The EBike wiring may get in the way. I don’t see anyplace to mount a water bottle on this frame so I bought a water bottle bag that mounts from the handlebar and frame. Folding: This is a unique feature for a fat tire this size. I mean they did it!!! Such a bonus and the space saving and transportability is amazing. Overall comparing my old fat tire to this new ReAspire - this bike is a welcome upgrade with quality components. Comparing Bike to Bike (without the electronic bonuses of the ReAspire) both bikes are comparable in riding experience with the ReAspire being more heavy and slower. Add the electronics and motor of the ReAspire and I feel like a little kid having a blast riding bike again. It’s so fast and easy to ride. A+++++++ Customer Service! Wow!! I had some questions that weren’t on the Amazon listing and they were answered quickly by the seller and community. I had a problem with the front brake rubbing. I emailed ReAspire on a Saturday and within minutes they asked for my phone number and some very helpful and nice people called and then asked if we could facetime. They had a bike there and completely took the front wheel apart to help demonstrate ways to fix it. I took the bike to a local bike shop and they realigned the front wheel and brake for free. During shipping my rear derailleur hanger was slightly bent and wouldn’t shift to 7th gear. I noticed some other things in this area that were not perfect so I replaced my rear derailleur, hanger and chain for about $50 in parts. These are basic mechanical parts that should be replaced regularly for long distance riders. No big deal. I also noticed my bike was locked at 20mph. I believe this is a legal requirement for selling an eBike in the USA. I contacted the seller and had a discussion with them about it. I recommend you do the same once you feel comfortable with the bike. I am extremely pleased at how quick and responsive ReAspire was for that support request. A++++ Customer Service!! If you’re into heavy duty quality trail bikes and want the EBike experience, then this bike is the best value for the money and it’s probably worth more than the price you pay in uniqueness of being a folding mountain / fat tire bike of this size. Hills are no problem with this bike. Riding across a field of grass is also easy. Such a great ride!! 25 miles at least on one charge. Hours of riding. Battery Notes: I went out for a long ride and was going full speed the whole way. The battery indicator is slow to update. I saw it drop to 50% and thought I’d be good to make it home. Suddenly the indicator dropped in the red zone and a few minutes later it turned off. 5 miles away and I had done big hills to make it up. I quickly realized how heavy this bike is. I turned the bike back on a few minutes later and it got me over the hills then shut off. I was able to get home with moderate effort. Not the best situation but I was pushing my luck on a 95 degree hot day in the sun. On another ride I was going slower and found I could go a full 30 miles and had battery left on the same hills mentioned above. Be smart about your battery! I have put about 550 miles over 30 rides so far and I will update this review if I have anything else to add other than I LOVE ReAspire as a company and as my favorite bike! ... show more

I am Very Impressed by this bike an am enjoying riding it immensely. It shipped to me in perfect condition in the box -assembly was very very easy as essentially you just install the front tire and attach the handle bars ( which have all connections installed already ) assembly took 15 mins and they even include all the tools you need. I had the bike out in my driveway and ready to ride 20 Mins after I began opening the shipping box. The rear tire was a little low on pressure so I used my own bike pump to top off both tires and that was it. The control screen turned on in less than 2 seconds and the battery indicated a 100% charge.Without reading any instructions I hopped on the bike and immediately began riding , the bike power is very intuitive to use and very simple, and - it’s works Fantastically. The bike has (5) pedal assist modes from mild assist to quite fast. Additionally the bike has a thumb operated electric ‘throttle’ to power the bike 100% from the electric motor ( you can completely stop peddling using this Thumb Throttle and ride it like an electric motorcyle. When you release the thumb throttle the bike reverts to assisted peddling mode ( at the assistance level you select on the screen in front of you ) You can also turn the electronics completely off and ride ot like a regular bike. The bike has a (7) gear Shimano manual gearing , which makes it very easy to ride with the electronics On or Off. The bike holds the battery inside the frame so you do not even have an external battery to affix ( or have available in view to be stolen ) To access the battery you open the bike at the center hinge point and the battery slides in/out and locks into position inside the bike frame , it’s a pretty amazing set up. You can charge the battery while it’s installed in the bike or you can remove the battery to charge the battery , both with the included battery charger. The bike folds in half at the center point hinge and the pedals fold vertically as well so it folds into a very manageable collapsable bike. The large tires make for an extremely comfortable ride as well as the bikes front and rear fully adjustable suspension. The bike will go very fast , I got mine up to about 32 Mph and I think it will go even faster. The acceleration rate is very brisk , very impressive- you get the sense that the electric motor is quite strong. I like absolutely everything about this bike and it even look very cool , I have gotten numerous compliments while riding the bike - it just looks Cool…. The include seat is a little hard and I’ll likley be replacing it with a comfort seat soon , but that is not necessary, just a personal preference. The included seat is fine , just a bit firm. I will say that even though the bike frame is made of aluminum, because of the stature of the bike , Mountain Bike style , Large tires , Battery & Motor - the bike is pretty heavy , I am a 225 Lb Man and to lift this bike up , folds or unfolded is a task. I have not weighed the bike , but i’m guessing ot weighs 50-60 Lbs ? This weight does not affect the riding in any way but it is pretty heavy to lift up and place in the back of a pick up truck - I don’t mind this at all , but I did want to mention it. I am not often so completely satisfied with something I buy as I am with this bike - I really do think it’s an Excellent Excellent eBike , an equally amazing, it’s fully collapsable. ... show more
