After reviewing many e-bikes and receiving recommendations from friends, I decided to choose the Freesky Alaska and very glad I did! I went with the Alaska because of the full suspension, fat tires, 1000 watt BAFANG motor, very aggressive looks but most of all the range due to having two quality batteries! Shipping, packaging and unboxing: - Shipping was quick with no issues and brought to my front door requiring a signature. - The bike was packaged and protected very well (see attached pic). - When unboxing, I would recommend having two people when removing the bike from the box as it is heavy (remove smaller boxes and front tire first). When bike is out of the box, I would recommend standing the bike straight up, resting front forks on a small piece of cardboard, to protect forks. - Bike comes with all tools required to build and maintain; a quality theft lock interchangeable combination and two chargers so both batteries can be charged simultaneously (see attached pics). Building the bike: - Building the bike is pretty straightforward, even if you have minimal mechanical experience! - All tools required to build and maintain the bike are included with the purchase (see attached pic). - As stated earlier, the bike is heavy so I would recommend some help when lifting the front forks when installing the front tire. After building the bike, I was amazed at the quality vs the fair price I paid compared to other e-bikes that are priced much higher! I bought the Alaska in green, the paint quality is great! Upon riding for the first time I was even more impressed by the ride, quality color display, smooth Shimano gear switching and stopping power of front / rear hydraulic brakes. Of course since I went after a 1000 watt bike, I wanted to see how fast I could get to, and with pedal assist, was able to hit 35 MPH. You should know that riding for long periods of time at higher speeds will drain the battery faster giving you less range. Overall I love the Freesky Alaska and it’s aggressive looks, I will do another review after riding / owning for a few months. Horlan from customer service has been great and very responsive but keep in mind is in another time zone so responses may be delayed. To close, after seeing the quality and riding the “Alaska” herself, my wife changed her mind from another bike company which she had thoroughly researched and was set on going with. We ended up buying her the newest Freesky model “Wildcat” which should be delivered soon. Thanks again Horlan and Freesky! ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I found it near impossible to find a E-bike that Had the features I wanted with good reviews, until I ran across this. All I have to say is wow. Assembly was super easy. When I took it for a ride I couldn’t believe the power. I tow my Kids around on a bike trailer and this bike does it effortlessly. I’m a speed freak without the kids and this bike is so powerful that I didn’t even get it out of Power Assist 3(it goes to 5). If you are looking for a great first e-bike with tons of range and a lot of power, go with the dual battery 1000w befang Alaska. You won’t be disappointed! ... show more

    • Motor failed - Very poor support
I initially loved the bike, but after riding a few hundred miles in only a few months the motor failed. Trying to reach support is difficult at best, and the emails are the only communication they use for support. I have been given piecemeal requirements to film the motor, followed weeks later with requirement to unplug the motor and reconnect. I would send the updated video and wait. Eventually I receive another email to take pictures of the wiring. I have missed out on taking my bike on vacation and at risk on missing again. UPDATE: replacement motor under warranty took 3 months to receive only to be the WRONG motor (according to the bike repair shop) The motor was listed on the FreeSky website as a available part but has been taken down. I have asked multiple times about this issue and it has been ignored. Is the part even available??? I have asked several other questions that have been ignored though I ask them repeatedly to answer. The brake disc and pads were destroyed in only a few hundred miles of flat riding. One of the battery chargers failed as well. Brake pads, brake disc and charger are available to replace. Update: after the motor failed with only 500 miles the company sent me another motor which the bike repair store discovered the motor only ran able to backwards. The bike shop communicated directly with the manufacturer and provided video evidence of the new motor only running backwards. Neither the bike shop or myself are able to obtain further communication. Texts and voicemails receive no response. After my first brief season of riding in 2023 I discovered in 2024 of the motor failure. FOUR MONTHS has elapsed since my first notification to the manufacturer of motor failure without rectification. I was unable to take the bike on my two vacation trips I had planned in 2024. I am losing confidence that the bike will be repaired and become a very expensive paperweight. ... show more

    • Big bike!
First, this is a big heavy bike! Strong motor that is very fast! I'm 200lbs thumb throttle will propel from a stop up to full speed in 4 seconds. Good for starting in intersections and then pedaling. Full suspension is comfortable. I hit an unsuspecting bump that was absorbed by the rear shock. I tested the brakes, I saw a 20 dollar bill on the ground and grabbed the brakes they worked really well as i skidded on the pavement. I've ridden for only 50 miles on this bike. It is in as good a condition as mile 1. The 7 gears are in the way of this motor. This bike is slow to maneuver. Being 6'2" I found the bike fits me well. The batteries last a long time even when hitting the throttle and setting the cruise control. Good luck with any purchase u make. ... show more
