After reviewing many e-bikes and receiving recommendations from friends, I decided to choose the Freesky Alaska and very glad I did! I went with the Alaska because of the full suspension, fat tires, 1000 watt BAFANG motor, very aggressive looks but most of all the range due to having two quality batteries! Shipping, packaging and unboxing: - Shipping was quick with no issues and brought to my front door requiring a signature. - The bike was packaged and protected very well (see attached pic). - When unboxing, I would recommend having two people when removing the bike from the box as it is heavy (remove smaller boxes and front tire first). When bike is out of the box, I would recommend standing the bike straight up, resting front forks on a small piece of cardboard, to protect forks. - Bike comes with all tools required to build and maintain; a quality theft lock interchangeable combination and two chargers so both batteries can be charged simultaneously (see attached pics). Building the bike: - Building the bike is pretty straightforward, even if you have minimal mechanical experience! - All tools required to build and maintain the bike are included with the purchase (see attached pic). - As stated earlier, the bike is heavy so I would recommend some help when lifting the front forks when installing the front tire. After building the bike, I was amazed at the quality vs the fair price I paid compared to other e-bikes that are priced much higher! I bought the Alaska in green, the paint quality is great! Upon riding for the first time I was even more impressed by the ride, quality color display, smooth Shimano gear switching and stopping power of front / rear hydraulic brakes. Of course since I went after a 1000 watt bike, I wanted to see how fast I could get to, and with pedal assist, was able to hit 35 MPH. You should know that riding for long periods of time at higher speeds will drain the battery faster giving you less range. Overall I love the Freesky Alaska and it’s aggressive looks, I will do another review after riding / owning for a few months. Horlan from customer service has been great and very responsive but keep in mind is in another time zone so responses may be delayed. To close, after seeing the quality and riding the “Alaska” herself, my wife changed her mind from another bike company which she had thoroughly researched and was set on going with. We ended up buying her the newest Freesky model “Wildcat” which should be delivered soon. Thanks again Horlan and Freesky! ... show more

Bought this as a first ebike. I wasn’t sure if the quality was going to be good. Well when I received it and put it together and took the first ride; wow, it was fun. A lot faster than I thought it would go and takes hills with ease. The only down side is I wish it had 18 speed or at least more than 7 speed. I haven’t needed to take it out of gear 7 yet because the lower speeds are for hill climbing. I’ve done a 8% grade and never changed the gear. I would recommend this bike to the expert for Cmping and light recreation and the beginner for more power and speed than you’d probably like. ... show more

We got these bikes and all we had to do is mount the front tire and and seat, fenders came with them which can choose to use or not. They too were easy to mount. We can't say enough about these bikes. They are built to take anything you give them. What a solid machine. PAS and gear selectors work flawlessly. The headlight is the best I have ever seen, it is very bright and has a broad pattern. There is no way you can't see anything you are approaching. The front forks are adjustable for a stiff or soft ride to match your riding needs. I am 250 lbs'. and even at that weight these bike accelerate very quickly and climb inclines with ease and the batteries will keep you going all day and then some. Freesky definitely sells top quality bikes. We and our friends love them. What a ball to ride them. ... show more

The Alaska is an amazing bike. It's ergonomics are spot on and balances perfectly through loose sand, mud and rough terrain. The 1000w bafang motor and dual battery delivers the power and reliability you need in a good e-bike. I have ridden this bike for 400 miles and absolutely love it. The wildcat is just that, wild! My wife loves riding her bike every chance she gets. She is on the short side and didn't like the tall bars that came on it so we put a new stem and bars and a few other cosmetic things. This bike will keep up with the Alaska and conquers any terrain with ease. These bikes are well worth the money and lots of people think we payed $5000 or more for each bike. These bikes are fully customizable and repairable because they come with reputable brand names on the important parts. The brakes that come on the bikes are sufficient for leisurely riding, but if you like any kind of performance, I recommend changing them out. ... show more

I purchased 2 Alaska e bikes one for me and the other for my wife so we could do some off road and on road exploring while getting exercise at the same time. The bikes came fully protected and honestly took longer to remove all the protective packaging than it did to assemble the bike. I was impressed with the quality of the bikes and the fact that most of the parts are known Brands and replaceable. On road the battery life is great we did 36 miles on pedal assist 2 without any battery level drop. Off road I did 13 miles and decided to put it to the test which included some pretty gnarly trails which were probably a bit extreme for its intended use but it did really well, battery level dropped 1 bar and I was exhausted. Keep in mind I'm trying to get exercise along with some needed assist. I didn't buy the bike expecting it to pull my dead weight (190 lb) around all day long for miles and miles. If you are in decent shape and want to use medium effort from time to time you can cover alot of ground on or off road and get great mileage out of the batteries. I suspect if you buy a bike like this to not put any effort into pedaling the battery obviously isn't go to go as far, as for my purposes it suits me perfectly knowing I can go just about anywhere and know I can have a powerful motor and battery life to make it back home. 😎 ... show more
