Easy fix for the unsightly hole in the stucco and wobbly mount. This is with the wedge attachment that comes with the Nest doorbell. Happy with the appearance and relative ease of installation. On an unrelated note, it was surprisingly difficult to creat a stable mount in stucco. It kept flaking away and the hole became bigger making the attachment very flimsy. We ended up filling the holes and back of the mount with clear caulk (keep it clean and avoid contact with the wires). We also applied caulk around the wall plate to keep the dust out. It is now snug as a bug and much nicer looking than when it was mounted directly to the wall. ... show more

This thing is great. Slick, fairly sturdy, and a simple way to hide the hole from the original doorbell. Only thing was that it’s made for using either the wedge mount or the original plate and getting it set just right and screwed in at the same time was a little tricky. Overall, highly recommend. Exactly what we needed! The old door bell plate was a circle. The nest hello we got was narrow so you could see the hole and conduit on both sides. This plate covered the hole perfectly! I live in a house that has a stucco exterior. I had to drill a bigger hole to run the wires for my nest doorbell. This hides the broken piece very well and it looks great. Super easy to install as well

The elago wall plate is one of the few Nest Hello wall mounts that exist on the market today that aren’t crude 3D printed options. It’s made of strong plastic and feels both cheap and well-made at the same time. Be careful as it scratches easily, so don’t drop it or scrape it during installation. Ultimately, the best case scenario is mounting the Nest Hello by itself without any accessory mount, but most of us have a disaster to hide behind a mount in the form of existing anchor holes, large wiring holes, and other stuff like caulk. See pic of what we had to hide behind the mount. The downside to this mount is that it is made of hard straight edge plastic, which works great on a flat piece of wood or siding, but does not work well on stone or rough face brick, which is really uneven. It’s impossible to mount it on that type of surface, unless you do some chiseling or come up with another solution. I purchased black automotive/marine weatherstripping and cut it to size, lining the entire underside of the mount. That way, the weatherstripping was able to conform to the various nooks and crannies on the brick, while providing a barrier to rain, snow, and insects. Once the anchor screws tied the mount down securely, I caulked the entire perimeter with clear silicone to fill in any remaining gaps and provide another water barrier. Obviously, up close, the caulking is not ideal, but nobody notices that stuff unless you’re the homeowner who actually did the work. Otherwise, the doorbell and mount are secure and look surprisingly elegant, as if the mount came from Nest directly. ... show more

Very easy to install. Its not my first go with elago plates. I use their round plate for my Nest thermostat. In my case my installation area was kind of ugly and the hole was bigger than the Nest Hello. So had I just installed it without the plate, it would have looked disgusting. This product looked and felt sturdy. The only problem was that it was the wrong size for my doorbell. The Hello wired is smaller than the battery version. I bought this thinking I had the wired version, but I actually had the battery version which is wired to my doorbell chime.

Doorbell wires were too short so I need something to raise the Nest Doorbell from the wall. This does the trick, but it would have been better if there was extra space in the back. This isn’t open in the back, it’s solid.
