I absolutely can not say enough about this product. I have and old craftsman 1/2 hp in my garage. My remote’s suddenly stopped working. I bought another and programmed and then another. They would program and quit working in a couple of weeks. Finally none would program. I thought I was going to have to replace the whole thing. I was contemplating running wires from the wall to a hidden area outside. Didn’t want to. Was trying to think of options when I ran across this and OMG game changer! Took and chance. Bought it. Took a hot minute to install but not hard at all. I was having to open the garage from the wall. Drive out. Go inside and close the door from the inside wall button and come out the front door to the car in order to secure the house. That crap gets old fast! I can now open my door consistently without problems. Just follow the instructions and you’re set. All I can say is DO IT!….customer service is also great.     • AWESOME! Programmed in 5 seconds with Smartlife app
AWESOME AWESOME and easy to program. Install only took 30 min total. I have a very old garage door opener named Marantec. It's not on the supported list for MyQ module and app. Best Buy tech to buy another wifi unit that is compatible named Maveo. It's supposed to interface with MyQ module. After 2 days, I couldn't get it to work. the MyQ module would flash but the Maveo failed to get the signal from it. I gave up and bought this unit. I'm not kidding that it took 5 seconds. I just held down the pair buton, then discover on the Smartlife app. Within 5 secs, it discovered it. It did have to finalize some settings and upload the config into the Cloud but it was SO EASY. Highly recommended. It's compatible with almost every garage door opener because it uses the 2 wire connection on the garage unit. The same connection that is attached to the manual open/close button that is mounted to your wall. ... show more

    • Simple, Easy, Inexpensive, Perfect
I was wary of this when I first found it while searching Amazon. The price seemed too good to be true. I have bought inexpensive items in the past and was reminded of the saying, "You get what you pay for". I ordered it anyway and it arrive in a day. Thank you, Amazon for the quick delivery as always. When I opened the package I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the packaging and included documentation. So many cheap items are very lacking in this area. The documentation was clear but very small so I did have to reach for my readers to get through most of it. Installation was straight forward. Plan on about 45 - 60 minutes to install. Make sure you remove any cars from the garage as you will need to be around the door quite a bit with the door closed. If your car is in the garage you will not have any room to maneuver a ladder around. I was fortunate enough to have wiring already running from the terminals on the back of the garage door opener to the corner where I was going to place device. All I needed to do was to install the door position sensor, stick the base unit to the wall and plug it in. After installing the hardware your next step is to install the SmartLife app on your phone. After installing the app you connect it to the device. It shows up in the SmartLife app as a garage door opener and it will tell you the position of the garage door (open or closed) and you can touch a button on the screen to open and close the door. I was giddy with excitement. One of the features of the device and app is that it will notify you when the garage door opens, closes or when it has been left open. I left these notifications on initially and for about 4 days. Then I start to get wary of all the notifications I was getting. Until you have this device you don't really acknowledge how much activity your garage door gets. I finally disabled the notifications and I just check the app if I want to know the status of the garage door. If your garage door gets used far less than mine you may want to keep the notifications on, especially if you are very security conscious. Overall it is a great device at an amazing price to convert your older garage door opener to the modern WiFi age. It gives me great peace of mind that I can check the status of my garage door after leaving the house or I can let someone into the house by opening the garage door remotely if I ever needed to. ... show more

    • Inexpensive upgrade- stellar customer service
Wow this product not only upgraded our older garage door opener but it was inexpensive. Customer service is top notch, when we received the product we required an adapter. Contacted them and they sent it out ASAP and didn’t upcharge. Then when I got the switch connected to the garage door opener (more on that below) it wouldn’t open using the wireless controller and app. Reached out via email and got a quick response with pictures. It was a simple fix, the wires were not connecting to the metal. Then boom it worked. If you require the switch don’t do the learn on the remote until after seeing if it works straight out of the box With your opener. I struggled and then by mistake pressed Learn on my opener and button 2 on the remote and it worked instantly. I then had to figure out how to unprogram button 1 and reset it. This should have taken me less than an hour but with my mistakes it took a bit longer, but we were happy to upgrade for so little and now can check when the kids come in and out OR I forget and leave the door open again all day 😬 ... show more

We've always hated and dreaded the question while already on a vacation trip, did we close the garage door. We got a security system that would tell us if it was open, but couldn't do anything about, but thanks to this product we can. Another reviewer on here said he attached a sensor to the link on the chain itself(genius! thank you), it worked perfectly and much cleaner look, just make sure you don't put it on the side that will go around the gear, and always unplug the garage opener unit before proceeding with any installation. ... show more

I have used it for a few days and runs flawlessly. We like the "Door Open" and "Door Close" notification and the ability to open and close the door remotely. The app is intuitive and found the open/close graphics very useful. The installation videos are helpful. Do a muck up installation to insure the 3 cables reach each intended destination before final installation. Although it's not a big deal to do, Proper Placement and attachment of the sensor and magnet needs to be sorted out first. ... show more
