  • 5.0 out of 5 stars Gentle and refreshing!
I've tried 5 other vitamin c serums (2 of which are the really popular ones on Amazon), and I felt like they were either not doing anything, too greasy, or smelled horrid (hello FA). I know vitamin c is a powerhouse ingredient, so I REALLY wanted some in my routine. I saw an ad for a sample pack from Eight Saints with some of their most popular products in it and so I ordered one. I found myself reaching for the tiny sample of Seeking C again and again. "Why am I hoarding this tiny sample when I can buy a full size one?" Lol. Quick review: smells good, feels excellent, stops pimples from coming up, moisturizes, brightens skin. I can't really speak to the long-term things like anti-aging or dark spot reduction because it hasn't been long enough yet.... but I believe that this serum will deliver on those promises. In depth: This serum, to begin with, smells like lemony, slightly orangey citrus. I don't think it needs fragrance, personally, but it's not strong or offensive at all. The fragrance is all natural, so there is that. The bottle is like many other serums-- but I'll say that the dropper is nice and strong and everything has a bit more of a higher-end feeling. The pinky-peach color of the bottle is about the same as the serum inside. One thing I'm not a fan of is the lack of information on the bottle. The back of the bottle is blank: no instructions or ingredients, so if you throw away the box, you have to Google the info for later use. The serum itself is a smooth, slick product that goes on really easily and absorbs nicely. It's about the consistency of any drug store hair conditioner (hard to come up with anything else that consistency that everyone would know) ... ie: it doesn't run down your face like a liquid. Some days, depending on my skin condition, the serum absorbs immediately, other days it takes a couple minutes. This serum is DEFINITELY NOT greasy, nor just sits on top of your skin doing nothing. I find that I COULD skip moisturizer altogether if I wanted to because this serum is so hydrating, leaving my skin feeling velvety-- especially if you exfoliate first. Who is this serum for? Everyone. I honestly think this serum would be great for any skin types... but very oily skin might need to start with a bit less at first to see how they do. I've found that if I feel a pimple starting up under my skin, if I apply this serum a few times that day, the pimple will go away. That said, it doesn't dry out skin, because of the jojoba. All in all, this serum is a great buy. The price point is great because you KNOW what you are getting as compared to less-expensive options that might be full of filler junk. I think this bottle should last about 3-4 months. ... show more

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars Desperately Seeking to Reduce Hyperpigmented Dark Spots
I was desperately seeking (do you like what I did there?) a way to reduce the appearance of my dark spots and it had to be cruelty-free. I had ordered Discovery Kit from Eight Saints some time ago, and it contained a sample tube of the Seeking C Vitamin C Serum. However, the product delivery was a small tube, which wasn't ideal for allowing me to experience the effect for a long enough time. Additionally, I prefer a dropper to apply serums. I took a chance and ordered the full size bottle. The pretty peach bottle arrived securely packaged so there were no leaks and no cracks. As much as I love minimalist packaging, I hope Eight Saints includes the ingredient list on the bottle itself. That's the only improvement I'd suggest, and it has nothing to do with product performance. The serum itself is rich, concentrated, and viscous. A little does go a long way. I use the dropper to apply to my spots and the rest of my face, allow it to sit on my face as long as the serum doesn't drip off me. I wait a bit for the serum to sink in a little. Then I tap it in and gently rub into my skin until it is absorbed. There is a distinct citrus scent, but it's not overpowering. I find it very pleasant. Additionally, I do shake the bottle vigorously before using the product because there is a little grit when it comes out if I don't. I don't know if this is usual for the serum, but it doesn't affect performance for me. I've been using this serum for almost two weeks. My spots have faded noticeably, and my skin looks healthier, is smoother, more supple, hydrated, and makeup looks much better than before I used this serum. I love the formulation and look forward to using it twice a day. I am eager to use the rest of the products in my Discovery Kit to see how well they work together, but this serum is really a delightful surprise. Purchasing the full-size product is something that I definitely don't regret. I look forward to incorporating the Eight Saints Seeking C Vitamin C Serum into my skin care routine and the fact that it's cruelty-free is the icing on the cake. ... show more

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars Absolute Must Have!
I received a sample of this serum in a Try-It kit from eight saints and absolutely loved the way it made my skin feel. This is now my second full size bottle and I think I may have found "the one"! I have combination skin that tends to get very dry in winter and oily in the summer with occasional breakouts. I'm super picky about what goes on my skin and I HATE serums that are goopy and sticky or too heavy. I've found that this serum is light, absorbs quickly, and leaves no residue on my skin. Plus, the smell is amazing.... seriously, my kids will smell my face after I use it because its so refreshing (Eight Saints, please consider making a candle in the scent so I can have my whole house smell this good!). In terms of benefits, I've noticed that some days I can skip moisturizer and go straight to sunscreen but that it layers really well under lotions and creams on some of those dryer days. I do not wear makeup anymore (thank you pandemic) and this gives my skin a nice glow that looks great on virtual calls. Additionally, I've noticed that some of my dark spots are fading (took about 7 weeks to really notice results) and I'm hopeful that if I use it throughout the summer it may prevent some of my freckles from really popping out! I also use other Eight Saints products in combination with seeking C. In the morning I use Pep Rally followed by Seeking C and Cloud Whip, and in the evening I use seeking C followed by Soulmate. All of their products are really worth trying out and if you are on the fence, definitely check out their Trial kit... I can guarantee you'll be back for more! ... show more
