Worked well for me! 70% hatch rate on quail eggs that shipped slow. They were at least 9 days old when I started incubation.

  • Needs a better manual.
Color: Yellow
I started my first batch as soon as I got it. The tempature went right to 100 degrees, so I didn't have to set it. The Humidity got to 42% and stayed there, even though I install both bottles (the manual said to start with one for a few weeks then add the other. This is because you need to start out with a lower Humidity at the start and increase it later on. 50-55% for the first 18 days, and then it should be increased to 70-75% during the last few days of incubation.) Adjusating the dial did no good. There are two channels for the water bottles but filling them both up does not supple enough area to generate the right Humidity. I filled the outer most area (not fed from the bottles) and it started to rise. When it gets to 55% I will take one of the bottles out for the 18 days and add it back in after that, is it stayes where it is supposed too. None of this is in the manual, but I learned about it with another unit I had and Internet research. ... show more

  • 36 egg incubator
This review is for the 36 egg incubator. We just received it today and added eggs. The first problem is no clear instructions for assembly are included. The operation instructions aren't as clear as the ones listed in the Amazon listing so I came back on the Amazon listing to better understand. It also ONLY has settings in centigrade which I missed when ordering, but that's a small inconvenience. We are hoping it does a good job. ... show more

  • Perfect size for us.
This is perfect for doing a couple dozen eggs. It is well insulated and holds a constant temp.

  • Not too bad!
Color: Yellow
*Update!* I finished a full hatch. Silkie chicks hatched day 19-21 using the settings I described below. No bloody navels so the temp was just right. I used the bottle until day 18 then just filled through both the reservoirs. 9 of the 10 eggs hatched, still giving the last another day just in case. Can recommend! So far so good. Based on prior reviews and initial testing, I have been able to figure out some previous issues. I started out of the box leaving it at 100 degrees. I hatched some eggs that were already on day 18 but they hatched early and with bloody navels and incomplete yolk absorption which is from high heat. This incubator must be calibrated. I did this using a cheap hygrometer/ thermometer combo I saw in a review. This thermometer device was not accurate (must also be calibrated) It was exactly 4 degrees off but based off of that, my particular incubator needs to be set at 98. I did elect to use the full styrofoam cover as it can’t hurt to help keep consistent heat. The humidity gauge does appear to be fairly accurate, within 2 %. The turning function might be confusing using the test function. It does 2 full rotations which worry me but the eggs don’t seemed to be getting damaged. The water bottles don’t seem to work great but it might be because I filled the reservoir first and caused a vacuum. I plan to just top off the water then use the bottles at lockdown this round. Also I didn’t use both bottles as it seemed to be overkill. The hatching floor is a common grid. I purchased non slip liner and cut it to fit the floor. Worked great. As far as room, it is indeed tight. This isn’t too much of an issue with small eggs as it keeps them from rolling around during hatch causing the chicks to work hard. The candling function works great. I’ll update after this hatch but besides the small size I believe it’s great for the price. I’m only deducting a star due to the temp being off drastically out of the box but I know to calibrate any hatching equipment so that is partially on me. ... show more

  • Good small incubator
Color: Yellow
The media could not be loaded. Good incubator for the price point. Didn’t have any issues keeping temp regulated or humidity controlled. There are many out there with a lot more bells and whistles but they come with more hefty price tags. This is a good beginner or small batch incubator. We hatched quail eggs and had 14 out of 18 hatch, 13 survived. This will hold 24 quail eggs. I would buy another one, and plan to soon! ... show more

  • Very little instructions
I agree with others that it comes with hardly any instructions. The Styrofoam was broke when we got it and I didn't realize it was part of the incubator because the picture didn't show it and I ordered it back in December and just now using it so unfortunately I didn't return it or see if I could get replacement. ... show more
