  • A really well-made product
Style: Game
I have purchased both the "I Never Forget A Face" and "Life On Earth" eeBoo memory games for my three-year-old granddaughter and they have been a hit. Memory games are a great investment because children enjoy playing them for a span of several years and their parents enjoy playing them, too. They exercise memory and concentration, foster the development of social skills, and teach pattern and spatial recognition and even math. My grandaughter even uses hers in solitary play. The construction of these sets is superior to that of other, mass-marketed memory games; they're built to withstand many years of use and the cards are perfectly sized for little hands to pick up and manipulate. They're also easy to pack (in a baggie) for a trip. But what sets the eeBoo games apart is their quality artwork. When purchasing any item, I always look at aesthetics first and I think this guiding principle is especially important when choosing play equipment for children. Practical, well-ordered, and beautiful design is art education built into the object. If children are only presented with cutesy Disney and schlocky Hallmark images, they will grow up thinking that that is what the world is supposed to look like. The images here are accessible and kid-friendly, but do not stoop to the level of cartoon-y condescension or crass product endorsement. Please consider this review a hearty endorsement of these and other eeBoo products. And thanks to Amazon for making available to us products that are not, but should be, stocked at the local box stores. ... show more

  • Wonderful matching game for the 4-9ish set
Style: Game
One of the best gifts--my 6 year old grandson loved this game and has asked to play a number of times since Christmas. There are a ton of "matching" games out there but this one is special for several reasons; the quality of the card stock they use is super durable, and the illustrations are particularly well done. Also, because the kids come from all over the world we are able to have discussions about the weather in that area (why they are dressed a particular way), their different religions (some girls have their hair covered, the girl from India has a red dot on her forehead, the boy from Israel is wearing a Yamakah etc.) and we've looked at where the countries are located on the globe. I highly recommend this game for anyone wishing to gently introduce the concept of diversity and acceptance to young ones--children end up learning a little about history, geography and religion as well depending on how much discussion you have during or after the game. All around couldn't be happier with this purchase. ... show more

  • Excellent Product for students and families
Style: Game
I purchased the product for my 3-5 year old class to teach diversity. I love the sturdy cards. However, I wish they had the country names on them.

  • Fantastic cultural exposure and great mental exercise for the whole family!
Style: Game
While searching for a memory game for my 3-1/2 year old daughter, I was disappointed with all the "character-driven" versions out there trying to sell us something. So....I came across these Eeboo products and am in love with them! My daughter has wanted to play with it every day for a week now. For her age, the entire box is too many to do at one sitting, so I recommend putting 6 or 8 pairs in a separate basket to begin with. Have fun! We're all addicted to it now! ... show more

  • My review of this matching game.
Style: Game
This was is a very good game. My 3 year old loved it. I was a bit worried it might be too advanced for a 3 year old. But it was good. We sorted the cards & made a few smaller groups & it worked well.

  • Eeboo I Never Forget a Face Matching Game is Great!
Style: Game
I bought this game about a month ago. I provide daytime care/education for my 3 granddaughters: ages 22 mos., 3 yrs., and 4 1/2yrs. I am big into educational games and am a retired preschool/kindergarten teacher. We LOVE this game! We typically play it several times a day in various ways. Individually, they will bring it to me or work on it on their own. The 22 mos. old can match 3-4 pairs at a time and is also learning to turn them face down to play "concentration" (needs help with this). For each of the girls, we start with 3-4 pairs at a time and work up. We are working on them using their words to describe what they see, ex. "what is she wearing?"; "she's got a pink scarf on", etc.. It is a game I see them using often and for quite some time. The materials are very sturdy and they even survived a minor "nibbling" incident. Great for visual discrimination, memory, similarities and differences, verbalization, etc.. Highly recommend this product! Update: We have now owned this game for 4 years. My grandkids still play it several times a week. It is looking a little worn but the individual tiles and the box are still in good condition. That's unusual for an item used so often (in my experience). ... show more

  • Chunky tiles fit small hands perfectly
Style: Game
Our other memory games look like a regular deck of standard playing cards printed on exceptionally thin paper. My 3 and 5 year old kids have a hard time grabbing the cards off of a tabletop to flip them, so after a dozen or so games, the cards are creased and frayed at the edges. Not a major concern, but an annoyance that slows down game play. The eeBoo game solves this problem using tiles of a completely different design: the faces are printed on pressed cardboard squares roughly 2 inches wide and an eighth of an inch thick. The difference is striking: by shrinking the size and increasing the depth, the tiles are easily gripped by small hands. Games moves faster and the tiles hold their shape over time. And I can confirm what most of the other reviews have made clear: the faces are cute and encourage curious minds to expand their geographic horizons. Guaranteed smiles the first time a new face is flipped over. Great family fun for all. ... show more
