  • Decent Adapter
This is an alright dual-band adapter. Installation was very easy. Literally plug-n-play. Packaging and shipping was good and even arrived earlier than expected. I would have to say the most startling thing about the adapter is its size. It's pretty small. Like 2 inches or so. As a result, you might not get the full signal strength as a larger adapter. Still, it pulls in the local Wifi hotspot good enough that I can use that being roughly at least a half mile away which gives me the option of using that should our home service go out. The #1 reason for wanting this. As far as speed, it's alright, but I'm disappointed it's not faster in some respects. For example, on our 2.4G modem/router unit, it's like the speed caps out at 42 Mbps. Fast enough, but my 12+ year old single band adapter reaches into the low 60 Mbps range. Using the 5G band on the nearby Wifi hotspot results in a similar experience, less than stellar sometimes but still quite good enough usually. The best performance this adapter gets is on our Belkin dual-band router we have attached to the modem. On that it gets upwards of 80-82 Mbps speeds, which is nice for gaming and streaming. No idea why the 2.4G speeds are so low when the connection is capable of nearly double that. I can only surmise it could be the antenna size or perhaps location. As far as drivers, the adapter worked fine after plugging in and letting Windows do its thing. I also tried the latest reference drivers off the RealTek website as well as getting the actual latest package for this adapter from the EDUB site which I'm currently using as it has some nice features built in. With the speeds I mentioned above, all the speeds were relatively the same regardless of drivers used. Overall I'm satisfied with the product and intend to keep it. If I ever did decide to upgrade to a larger antenna model, then this will make a great backup or a great adapter for my old laptop. So yeah, it does what it says it does, just don't be startled by it's small size. It does work. The only knock I'd give it is in reference to the lower than expected speeds/signal, but otherwise it's fine and I've been using it for both streaming and gaming with success. ... show more

  • So easy!!!
I plugged it in and went into settings and connected super quickly, it works great!!! You absolutely can’t beat this for the price!!! If I could give it 10 ⭐️ stars I would!!!

  • Easy but not super fast. For the money, 10/10 though.
Like the title says, it was a super easy install and gave wifi to a non wifi PC which was great. The driver downloaded itself and updated. The speeds are just par. Make sure you keep your chipsets updated as well in your device manager because I honestly thought mine didn't work at first but after manually updating those via device manager, it worked and worked good! Not AMAZING but not bad at all! ... show more

  • Still going strong
I bought this item like 2-3 years ago. It works great I get great reception. I do not have any lagging problems or anything and I have run into this thing so many times it should be broke. It's not though it's still going strong.

  • good speed and compatibility
It worked well on pretty much anything. I used it on my winXp laptop and all it needed was a driver. It is able to see networks that are fairly far from me. I was able to get 200Mbps peak on a steam download which is probably the max of my old router.

  • Worked well in the beginning, but stop after a month
The usb adapter worked well in the beginning, never disconnecting from the wifi, but after a month in, it started to disconnect frequently. I initially thought it was my wifi itself, but my other electronics would work fine with my wifi, so I realized it was actually the adapter. I suppose for 10 dollars, you pay for what you get, but its annoying seeing as the company that I bought my pc set up with gave me one of EDUP's adapters (which is why I knew about EDUP and their adapters) and I loved it as it lasted me two years till I broke it by accident. And I assumed this one would work just as great as my last one but to my disappointment it didn't. ... show more

  • Only last a year. I am now ordering my 3rd one.
I like that it does work but I don't like that it only lasts one year. I am going to buy my 3rd one now.

  • Excellent cheap option for fixing signal strength
I bought this for my desktop PC, which always had issues with connecting with our (admittedly bad) Xfinity router and its signal boosting pods. This was my first attempt at buying something to fix connectivity problems, and fortunately it works well enough for me to say this is really worth it. It is completely plug-and-play, and has been able to provide a stronger and smoother connection than my desktop’s dedicated WiFi chip. If you’re going down the rabbit hole of fixing your wifi, start with buying one of these, and see how much it improves your experience, cause for me, it’s all I really needed to be able to play Team Fortress 2 again, and download stuff in less than 18 hours. ... show more
