Searched long time for a pull cord lamp that was taller than most bedside lamps with clean lines and this fits the bill perfect. Don't love that you have to put the shade together yourself and that it is velcro but once together you can't tell. The pull cord is great. So happy with this purchase.

THIS IS NOT THE NEW NORMAL IN BUYING FURNITURE STYLE! Don't waste your money, keep looking. Plan on spending more money for shade, socket, harp, cord to get this lamp to look half way decent! Don't be fooled by camera anlges hiding the lamp guts because this is poor design and low quality even with nice post and base parts. Mid-Century Modern lamps with Gold and Wood, then made with Black light sockets--Not BRASS! What kind of cheap designer would do that? You have to actually "assemble" the lamp shade... LOL! What kind of cheap designer would do that? Think back on your life, have you ever bought a lamp where you built the shade? Ridiculous! Then with the super cheap shade you get White shade rings--Not BRASS! Finally the Black power cord shouts poor design and cheap, ever heard of CLEAR or GOLD cord? Quality MCM lamps design the entire product that matches, not like this lamp throwing low-end parts together--A little White metal here, a little Black plastic there, then add Gold and Wood. Walla...
