The media could not be loaded. This is my review of Edgelec’s Flickering LED Lights The company sells these LED lights in several different colors, and you can get them in solid or flickering modes. You get 100 lights (I counted them), and an equal number of resistors. The resistors allow you to use the lights at different voltages. A sampling of 10 lights, showed that they all performed perfectly. They were tested using a 3v (series) battery pack, so I did not require the use of a resistor. They are perfect for miniature modeling, lighting up a scale railroad landscape, making faux flickering candles, or placing them into a bookshelf diorama. I am using these flicker (yellow) lights to create a realistic flame effect in a small diorama. Very good LED for price and quantity. This might be arbitrary to some, but the leads on these are a little weak to not break but will bend easily as you try to solder them. I normally run the leads through the circuit board then bend them to hold the bulb in place. When I would flip the board over to solder, even with a careful touch mind you, the soldering iron tip would start to re-bend the lead due to the contact pressure and the bulb would fall through the hole a little causing it to solder at an angle. I know this is not a big deal. I am just a stickler to have a clean and straight soldered board on my projects. ... show more

Good product. Flickering is realistic. I used as a firebox light in a model train. Pleanty brightness. Model train controller (DCC) supplies about 14v DC so I used a larger resistor value. I could have used 3 of the supplied resistors in series. When the current is too low light is dimmer, but no flicker. About 15mA-20mA flickers nicely. ... show more

I've got these wired up as a test currently using an old 5v phone charger through the included resistor. Everything is working as expected. The color is great, the flickering is subtle but noticeable - just what I was hoping. This is a solid value for the price. You'd spend easily five times the amount for pre-built, so I'm happy to save some money where I'm able to. My plan is to install these in some homemade halloween candles made from PVC/hot glue and power them via a small transformer and buck converter rather than batteries. The above test gives me the confidence to move forward in the design, but I'll update later once I have more completed in case anyone wants more details. ... show more
