  • Works great under our kitchen sink.
Size: ECO MINI 1
The Ecosmart mini water heater is a great choice for those sinks that take forever to get hot water. We had our plumber install it under our kitchen sink. The water in the kitchen would take at least 1 minute just to feel warm. It was annoying and wasteful. I stumbled upon these mini heaters on Amazon and decided to give the Ecosmart a try since it had the smallest dimensions. We placed it in the cabinet under our sink right next to the garbage disposal. It fits there well, and leaves behind enough storage space for dish soap, dishwasher pods, garbage bags, etc. The Ecosmart plugs into a regular outlet, and thankfully we already had a free one under the sink. The Ecosmart is very simple to use. It has one knob on the front that controls the temperature. That's it. Unfortauntely, the knob doesn't have any markings to let you know what temperature the water will be, so there will be a little trial and error test period needed. We have ours set to just a little bit past the center line. That gives us water that's very warm, but not scalding hot, and perfect for washing dishes and hands. The front of the unit has two indicator lights; power and heating. The set-up works amazingly well. Now when we turn on the hot water we get hot water in only a couple of seconds, and once the hot water in the Ecosmart's tank starts to deplete, in about 2 minutes, the hot water from the hot water heater has reached the sink, so there are only a few seconds where the water temperature drops a bit. The Ecosmart cycles on and off as needed to keep the water temperature in the tank within your set range throughout the day. All in all... a great solution for instant hot water. ... show more

  • Heavenly for a bidet sprayer
Size: ECO MINI 1
Perfect for warming bidet water!!! I have a bidet sprayer next to my toilet and loved it even with cold water. But I just wanted warm water. I tried a small water heater that doesn’t store water, just warms it as it passes through. It cut my water pressure in half. That was a bummer. Then I decided maybe a tiny tank would keep my water pressure. This keeps my water pressure the same. I take the sprayer and do a short burst spray into the toilet to get the cold out of the sprayer cord. Then spray myself for as long as I want with warm water. There is no cold coming to the sprayer. Only from this water heater. So I adjusted the temperature to my perfect temperature. So you can make the water just warm, not hot. But you can also make the water HOT! Like if you wanted to use it for a sink. MEN OUT THERE - Your woman would be amazed and in awe of you if you surprised her with a bidet sprayer hooked to this hot water heater. OMG. The hubs gets more lovin, and I love the cleanup after. And the cleanup before is probably why he gets more lovin. Just amazing. All women need. Men too. Want more lovin yourself? Keep everything clean and fresh all the time. ;) ... show more

  • Great under the cabinet water heater!
Size: ECO MINI 2.5
Purchased this for my folks because their kitchen sink is as far away from the main water heater in the basement as possible in their house. They used to have to wait for over a minute before the hot water got there and now turn it on an immediate hot water. They said that they could measure the difference in water usage on their bill and waiting for hot water cost around $10/month. The heater was easy to install by itself, just divert the incoming hot water into this tank and then from the tank to the faucet. The only snag was installing an actual duplex outlet for the dishwasher since it was previously direct wired in. Now, everything works great. ... show more

  • Using as Garage Sink Water Heater
Size: ECO MINI 2.5
Taking 1-star off because mine did not come with a wall mounting bracket and the 'Ecosmart' logo on the front faded off a little while I was handling it during installation while wearing a rough-textured Carhartt jacket. It is supposed to come with one, but all I got were two bolts intended for masonry. Clearly someone took the bracket and returned this to Amazon. I was able to fashion a mounting bracket after going to a local hardware store and seeing what the bracket actually looked like on a display model of a Bosch unit. Anyway, it's depth is about 12" -- it's not a svelte little thing like comparable tankless water heaters are. It'd definitely take up a lot of under-sink space if you're installing it there. I'm hard pressed to notice any noise from it. It makes about the same "quiet boiling" noise that my 40 gallon electric water heater does in my house after a shower, but notably quieter. It isn't particularly heavy, but does have some heft to it, especially when loaded up with water. I chose to run a dedicated 20A circuit with a GFCI outlet for this unit since I was so close to the panel, I already had extra wiring/receptacle from a remodel, and my garage walls are open stud right now, but I'm confident that's not necessary in most cases, especially if you'll be using a 20A shared circuit. My nearest plug was a 15A shared circuit to which all of my tool and lawn equipment chargers are plugged in, and I didn't want to have any problems -- when they're charging (which, for me, is often at the same time), they can chew through electricity at about 12A total. This water heater only seems to spike power draw when it heats its first batch of water after being drained, after that it looks to be using very little power. It had the first 2.5 gallons of water painfully hot in about 30 minutes after the installation was complete. I piped the PRV to the sink below (the photo shows before I mounted the PVC pipe to the stud). I used PEX and a fancy PEX hanger system I found on clearance at Home Depot. Since the pipes are mounted to an outside-facing wall, I covered all the PEX in pipe insulation foam (not all of that is done in the photo). Now, this isn't as high of quality as the higher-dollar units of similar design you find with more recognizable brand names. For one, the inlet/outlet piping is clearly steel instead of brass, which will rust and already was a bit. I cleaned off the little bit of rust at the tip of the inlet/outlets, Teflon taped the everlovin' out of them, and attached 1/2 NPT to PEX adapters, then piped the rest of it as you see in the photo. After a little scare where the hot water outlet was leaking, all I needed to do was tighten that PEX adapter down more. After that, no leaks, no issues. Given the inlet/outlet pipes are steel and were already showing signs of rust, I don't expect this thing to last as long as a unit that is made with brass or stainless piping, but it was less than half the price. And if it ever leaks, it'll leak directly into the big utility sink below it. In conclusion, it works great, I got it for a cheap price, and it serves my needs well. ... show more
