I have a close friend that uses a mobility scooter to be able to go on cruises and visit other places requiring lots of walking. Several years ago he was on a cruise when one of the lead-acid gel cell batteries failed and it put a real damper on things. I had talked with him about possibly upgrading to LiFePO4 batteries that are generally more reliable and have a longer useful life. I had used these batteries for years in products I designed for various Government agencies and am quite confident in the technology. The cost of these batteries has come down over the years to where they are almost competitive with the conventional lead acid outright, but considering their longer cycle life, they may be less expensive over time. I don't want you to take my suggestion and if you contact the manufactures of existing scooters they will probably tell you they don't have any comment to “cover their ___”, but there are a number of videos on YouTube where technicians from reputable dealers demonstrate how to do the conversion. Basically, these ECO-WORTHY LiFePO4 batteries were an exact physical replacement with the terminals in the precise location as the OE lead-acid gel cells. The only other thing you need to do is get a special 29.4 Volt charger with the 3-pin XLR connector (several available on Amazon) to charge these batteries. I installed a small solar panel system for my rv. Things like the TV and game console. This worked but I ran out of power at about 2 hours. I am buying a bigger battery and will use this battery for my trolling mother. It's nice and light compared to a regular old battery and lasted longer.

Holds charge real well. I used it to replace my aging sla that I have in an ammo box. I use it to power my Kx3 and ft891 hf rigs.
