🚀 Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

The product under review is a powerful, efficient gasoline-powered auger which, once properly established, can quickly dig several holes, making plantings and post-installations a breeze. The device is fairly heavy but in return, guarantees excellent build quality and performance that has won many users' praise, despite the learning curve of correct operation and fuel mixing process. It does, however, have some minor durability issues, as evidenced by reports of a breakable choke lever and a bent handle after installation.

Pros

  • 👍 Quick and efficient: Can dig multiple holes in short periods.
  • 👍 Powerful: Handles different types of soil, including rocky and clay-based soils quite well.
  • 👍 Responsive seller: Any issues arising from product usage are quickly rectified.
  • 👍 Good fuel efficiency: Users report a low gas usage compared to the output.

Cons

  • 👎 Challenging initial setup: Fuel/oil mixing instructions and operation manual could be better written.
  • 👎 Minor durability issues: Some clients have reported an easily breakable choke lever and a bent handle.
  • 👎 Weight: The tool is heavy, leading to fatigue during extensive projects.
  • 👎 Can be difficult to use in rocky soils: The tool may struggle with larger rocks and has a potential for injury if not handled properly.

Should I Buy It?

If you're involved in various gardening projects that require a lot of hole digging, this product should be right up your alley. Despite the reported minor durability issues and the learning curve for its operation, the auger has proved itself in speed, efficiency, and power making it a worthy investment. Just ensure you have the patience to learn its operation and the physical strength to use this fairly heavy tool.

  • Works great
Size Name: 52cc+2 bit(6“10”)
Saw a video on YouTube for this auger and it looked good so I decided to try it out. As advertised it gets the job done easily. 52cc seems to be plenty of power and has no trouble running the included 10 inch bit. Great tool

  • For the price
Size Name: 52cc+1 bit(8")
This machine does exactly what it said to do it was very easy to use but I did have to YouTube how to lube the motor underneath there's a little nipple for the grease gun to attach. I didn't see that in the directions and how to use the throttle but once I got it going it works great. Very happy

  • Almost 5 Starts
Size Name: 52cc+2 bit(6“10”)
So I did a ton of research before buying this auger, checked reviews etc. First time starting up the auger the choke lever broke clean off. It is 100% plastic and I encourage the manufacturer to change that. We had to use a flathead screwdriver to engage the choke function to use. The unit did fire right up and we successfully dug 8 post holes with the 10 inch and 2 with the 6 inch blade. The unit ran very well while auging, even when hitting a rock. Overall the unit is great, I wish it had come with a small 2.6 ounce of oil but we used our chainsaw oil mixed with gas. If you have never used an auger before I implore you to test the small blade first. The kick back on an auger can be dangerous if the blade gets jammed on a rock or root! FYI we have 76 more post holes to dig so I will update this as we go! ... show more

  • NO CARBURATOR ADJUSTMENTS!!!
Size Name: 52cc+3 bit(4"6"8")+3 Ext(8"12"20")
Update (9/24/2024) - Since this tool has no carb adjustments, it's a real bear to start or keep it running unless you play with the choke lever when its really hot with low humidity outside. Basically, this tool only runs well when the weather is cool outside. That's the main problem when buying a 2-cycle engine with no low/high speed adjustments on the carburetor. Someone should tell the "tree huggers" that leaning out and destroying 2-cycle engines due to restricting carburetor adjustments isn't saving the planet but rather just adding to the landfills! I'm spent most of my life on the farm digging post holes the old fashion way so using a gas post-hole digger seemed sacrilegious to me at first. The only reason I bought this post-hole digger was due to my dad having cancer and the pain medication has made his legs extremely weak so he wasn't really able to help anymore. Being a one man show, I had to figure out how I was going to move 28 head of cattle with 20 baby calves using our old cattle corral which was never designed for baby calves. Basically, I needed to put up woven wire in a hurry because winter weather was fast approaching. Needless to say, I was able to install the corner post braces in less than an hour thanks to this tool. Ultimately, we got our cows/baby calves moved just a day before the cold weather and rain set in. So the real question is .... Is it worth the asking price? You bet it is and I feel kind of foolish never buying one these post-hole diggers sooner. The digger is a little hard on the forearms but if you go slow it will work out fine. I also might add that the carburetor as far as I can tell has NO ADJUSTMENT screws for the LOW/HIGH speed settings but it still starts fairly easy. I also seen one description that called for 25:1 fuel mixture and the manual calls for a 30:1 mix. I used a 25:1 and it worked just fine without any excessive smoking so take that bit of information for what it's worth. Just so you know, the power-head assembly arrived about a week before the auger/extension kit did. ... show more

  • works good even at 6000 plus feet
Size Name: 52cc+3 bit(4"6"8")+3 Ext(8"12"20")
So my land is at about 6400 ft above sea level so I was worried about how this would do ( jetting and power etc ) it did well I used it today with the 6-inch bit and the 4-inch. has even power for sandy dirt. would not use if you have a lot of large rock. but I'm happy with it. starts easy
