Will update later with a real test of ice retention. Only made a quick test at home by adding Ice packs and beer bottles. Kept ice cold for 12 hrs with out opening. Ice packs were still frozen solid. This is really a heavy duty (and weighs a bit accordingly) cooler. It seals very tight and is durable enough to use as a table or stool as well. It has a large capacity which makes it ideal for a long day at the beach.
