I bought this specifically to charge AA and AAA batteries while hiking or camping, it is really light, charges both Nimh and Lithium Ion batteries has a smart system that can tell which battery is installed, and even allows different size and types of batteries to be charged at the same time. The AAA batteries are a little tricky in the installation and like to pop out in my backpack so I solved this by simply using a rubber band around the charger and batteries. easy and it works to hold them in. This worked with my solar panel but I am sure it beat up the batteries a bit by the constant power fluctuations as I was hiking in and out of shade. It states it needs a 2AMP power supply but My solar only put out about 1.5 to 1.7AMP so not sure if this will do anything to the longevity of the product but for now it is working great and meets my needs. UPDATE 7/10/2024 So after using this for several months It has become my go to charger. Its fast, easy to use, runs well off my solar panels, both my smaller one and my 120watt panel. I have found that simply putting a pony tail holder around the batteries when charging AAA size will hold them in place when in my backpack. I have successfully brought a few batteries that other chargers refused to charge back to life again. I have used it for NiCad, NIMH, and Lithium Ion and it charged them all with ease, and the lithium ion that were getting up to 140 degrees using my other charger, they registered 105 using this...much better This thing is super light and easy to tote around, it uses a common USB-C cord so that is easy to find if you were to lose the one it comes with. I am seriously thinking of getting a second one to use around the house because it works so well. It seems to be pretty durable, it took a dive from about 10 feet bounced on the ground a few times and landed on a small cliff, still works perfectly, yeah it got a few scratches from the fall but it;s cosmetic. This company stands behind its products. I purchased one of these chargers and nine months later it developed a fault and wouldn't charge any more. I posted a review here concerning the problem and shortly afterwards I heard from the company. They wanted to make it right. After explaining the problem, they arranged to send me a replacement which works perfectly. Sometimes minor faults like this occur in a product and it's nice to know that EBL stands behind them. Their batteries are outstanding. I have many sets of their batteries in all sizes from D to AAA for powering various things like solar lights as well as electronic items. They do a terrific job.     • Very Nice Universal Charger.
This is good charger to have. I am replacing, finally, an old Ni-Cd, Ni-Mh charger I have had for ages. This charger is smaller and has a convenient USB-C plug to power the charger. This can be connected to a wall outlet power block, a car USB port or a PC USB plug. The independent charging slots with charge level display are very helpful. You can charge one battery at a time. Or you can charge any number up to 4. The best thing is that this is a Universal AA and AAA charger. It will charge NiCd, Ni-Mh AND Li-ion batteries. Many cheaper chargers will not charge Li-ion batteries. Li-ion batteries are a better choice for more devices because Li-ion batteries put out 1.5VDC. Ni-Cd and Ni-Mh batteries only put out 1.2VDC which can be a problem for some devices. Li-ion rechargeable batteries are more expensive but they do a better job at replacing 1.5VDC alkaline batteries. ... show more
