Ordered a blue/gold but received the light blue and gold body with a blue/gold neck. It’s a good second horn or one for show gigs. Doesn’t sound quite like a $5k Selmer, but we didn’t expect it to. Serious players will tell the difference but works for our high schooler’s second horn.

I only gave it 3 stars because the mouthpiece that comes with it is crap! I used my good mouthpiece and it plays very well. It’s fun. I was actually surprised with how good it sounds. I purchased it for use in parades, but it works well in concert band also.

Good beginner sax! For the money it is well worth it; if you decide to continue playing you can upgrade but why spend more than you have to in the beginning! I order the purple because I lived the look - it did not disappoint! Recommend upgrading mouthpiece to a Yamaha 4c and definitely get Ricco or Vandoren Reeds (I use 2.5). The kit doesn’t come with cork grease so add that to your order. And a softer neck strap will encourage longer practice sessions - the one that comes with the sax was not comfortable after about 15 minutes of play. Add a few more dollars for a cleaning kit and you have everything you need - the rest is all you! 😎 ... show more

    • Broke in less than a year with minimal use

My 5th grade son decided to try out the Saxophone for this year. He did Clarinet last year so for band he decided to switch. So he has practice twice a week. He doesn't even play it at home. He started using it in October 2022, and by April 2023 saxophone doesn't play and can't pinpoint what it is. Extremely disappointed. We are 2 weeks away from the concert and now we have to figure out what to do. Needless to say my son is really upset because he might not be able to perform. Also, seller basically totally ignored my messages, answered the first message did not give any resolution, instead explained something about the mouthpiece function and that's all I got. We were forced to take it to the local music store and they replaced a tiny plastic piece that was missing and the price tag was $110. So basically more than 1/3 the cost of the instrument. Save your time and money, buy something better. DO NOT BUY THIS CRAP. ... show more
